Barbeque Nation: The ₹800 pax Junk Food Scam – A High-Carb Illusion?
Breaking News: The “Premium Buffet” That’s Just Overpriced Junk Food
For years, Barbeque Nation has marketed itself as a high-end unlimited buffet experience, luring customers with the promise of sizzling grills and gourmet indulgence. But is it really worth your hard-earned money, or is it just another corporate food scam?
The Ultimate Illusion: You Think You’re Eating BBQ, But You’re Just Eating Junk
Here’s the secret they won’t tell you—they are not serving you premium food. Instead, they flood your plate with cheap, carb-heavy fillers to make you feel full fast, so you eat less of the real (expensive) stuff.
🔴 Durum wheat breads disguised as “soft and fresh”—from naans to rotis, Maida coated Corn, Less Veggie Durum wheat noodles these are made to bulk up your meal while costing the restaurant almost nothing. 🔴 A mountain of potatoes in different forms— Potato Chat, Potato Masala, mashed, and even hidden inside "special dishes." Why? Because potatoes are cheap and make you feel stuffed. 🔴 Rice-based dishes loaded with oils and fillers—they drown you in biryanis and pulao, ensuring you waste your appetite on low-cost carbs instead of meat or seafood. 🔴 Minimal ingredients, maximum deception—most of their food is 90% filler, 10% actual protein.
Why Are You Paying ₹800 for Cheap Carbs?
Think about it: for ₹800 per person, shouldn’t you be getting high-quality meats, fresh seafood, and real gourmet ingredients? Instead, you’re getting the same treatment as a wedding buffet—where the goal is to keep costs low while making guests think they’re eating something grand.
You walk in expecting a luxurious BBQ experience, but what you’re really getting is a well-disguised fast-food meal served in a fancy setting.
Health Risks: The Hidden Side of This So-Called “Luxury Buffet”
Ever felt bloated, nauseous, or sluggish after eating at such buffets? It’s not just because you overate—it’s because your body is struggling to process heavily processed, artificially flavored, oil-drenched food.
This isn’t fine dining. It’s high-cost, low-quality food engineering.
The Better Alternative: A Real Meal for the Same Price
Here’s the ultimate kicker: for ₹800, you can get an actual high-quality meal at a premium à la carte restaurant. Instead of drowning in low-cost carbs and synthetic flavors, you could have: ✔ A well-cooked steak or gourmet food item ✔ Freshly prepared, high-quality grilled meats ✔ Handcrafted dishes made with actual premium ingredients
So, What Are You Really Paying For?
Not quality. Not freshness. Just a psychological illusion of abundance.
🚨 Barbeque Nation isn’t a luxury dining experience—it’s a corporate scam dressed up as one. 🚨
Next time you consider stepping in, ask yourself: ❓ Do you want real food, or do you want to be fooled by fillers? ❓ Are you paying for BBQ, or are you paying for a plate of carbs in disguise? ❓ Would you rather eat quality food, or overpay for an all-you-can-eat trick?
🔴 Think before you eat. Your money—and your health—deserve better.

Very bad experience and service. 1.Late service attendance to start the barbecue once we were seated Non veg starters prawns and fish brought very late after repeatedly requesting and finally raising voice. Height of bad hygiene issue👇 Many small cockroaches coming onto table, plate, glass, our body after sometime while having food. Very nasty experience. Photo attached and marked for reference. I have video also.
Table changed, but we as a group were 7 people. Now we had to spent our lunch in 2 tables far away. Then we just stopped the starters and was feeling bad and couldn't enjoy our appetite and felt everything spoilt.
Repeatedly the suppliers coming behind to tell sorry and not report issue. They gave rs 700 discount on the bill and telling this is a discount that can be done from their side without the knowledge higher management. He is telling they will lose business if we report. We never asked for discount. Atlast while we were going to open the exit door, a manager like person coming and asking for feedback. Told about the cockroach issue. His attitude was guilt free. He is asking "Any other issue?? " Very casually he's asking repeatedly.. His attitude was like - the cockroach issue is just a small issue and apart from that anything else?? He is telling sorry by word, but doesn't feel a little bit of sorry in his attitude. And he is showing old photos of pest control being done there and loads of dead cockroaches lying. 👆 So at last what we understand?.. There is cockroach infestation in this outlet and this is a common issue there.
Our bad luck.. friends, stay away from this outlet. Don't waste your money.
05-01-2025, 3.00 pm. We were taken as guests by our host(family friend) to Barbecue Nation, Panvel Orion Mall.
Our host had a very bad embarrassing day in front of us.
We were given one of the corner seats. While eating starters, after sometime, many small small cockroaches started coming on to table, plates, body.
Management please check CCTV if you have any doubt...
Read moreA place that does not need any introduction. A never-ending buffet, sumptuous as well as luscious, will leave you for more cravings. This outlet of barbeque nation is though secluded from all the other outlets in Mumbai but has not lost the genuine charm. The ambiance is very peaceful and smooth. The light music adds charm to it. The music tunes comprising old songs were adding an exhilarating charisma to my dining experience.
The starters, both veg as well as non-veg were quite luscious and scrumptious with the special mentioning of achari grill veg, Cajun spiced potato, lasooni fish tikka, and tandoori tangdi. Cajun spiced potato was well tossed with spices and blended perhaps in olive oil was a treat to my appetite. The grilled pineapple was inviting me to have more of it, and I rightly obliged the request.
The main course was as great as appetizers. The biryani was delicious and chicken pieces were piquant and intriguing. The Dal helped me in relishing the home-made flavor. The long-grained rice was a treat to delight with dal. The mutton was well cooked, and it was palatable.
Until I visited barbeque nation, I had no idea how does hot gulab jamun tastes when taken with a scoop of different flavors of ice cream. And when I tasted it with the vanilla scoop, I was like lost in the dilemma whether to have it more or not because by then I was done with my starters and main course, and I was not left with much appetite. But the foodie in me wanted to try more of it, and so I gave it another try.
The not to be forgotten aspect for me while having food at any restaurants is the cleanliness, and this place upstands my criteria. All the utensils were immaculately maintained and were spotless. The service was very much cordial and gracious. The staff was well behaved, and they know to hit the right spot to create happy customers. Vimlesh and Shobhit, the staff members, were very supportive and acknowledged all of my requests. Overall a beautiful place and I enjoyed my visit to this place. Hope to visit the...
