PizzaExpress — Restaurant in Pune

If one has to ruin their previous Pizza Express taste, visit High-Street Balewadi-Pune one.Their signature margarita buffala and the goat tasted so dry specially the padana. caramelized onion had more sugary taste. The base was hardly covered with any passata sause.

I had already informed this to first server that I had found my last pizza dry in my last visit here, ensuring a good amount of passata sauce would be great. The first server said we don't modify our order.

So the pizzas came cold and dry.

Now, when I highlighted this sad looking pizza to another server here Shashikant, he intrestingly remembered me from my previous visit. He said "I remember you from the last visit, you had asked for passata sause even then, but this time we will charge 50 bucks extra"

(I wish he had remembered even then the pizza was dry, but he remembered me as the guy who find flaws with their signature recipes and ask for extra sauce.)

'Sure' i said.

(1500 for 2 pizzas you charge, you think one would suffer the dinning experience for 50 bucks seriously)

We could barely finish Margarita , the whole padana remain untouched. Shashikant towards the end ensured to inform us that other guest are waiting while he himself has just got us our leftover parcel and filled our glass only after multiple requests.

He was more worried about the guest in waiting rather the checking with the guest if the food was ok for us to not eat an entire pizza.

Dear pizza express originals if you don't want to your signature pizza recipes be modified by customers. please ensure its not modified by your own standards set by outlets like BKC or bandra project or pheonix market city project for that matter.

Highly overrated. It was valentine’s day and we thought to visit this gourmet pizzeria to celebrate the day. They gave us table no 1. The chairs were too unconfirmable.  It was a rush day so decided to stick to that table and ordered the goat pizza which supposed to have Goat cheese and mozzarella cheese on it. However, it was a disappointment after seeing the amount of cheese on it. You need a microscope to look for the cheese on that pizza. Pizza was okayish. Next order was Penne with Cream Sauce and it was written on the description that Chargrilled vegies and few other ingredients. Well, there were 3 or 4 bell pepper and 2 small pieces of zucchini. Sauce was utterly rubbish, white sauce was made up of, flour and refined. No butter, no cream, and very little quantity of cheese. Honestly a roadside vendor makes better white sauce pasta then these people. Now Comes to the Iced tea, Gosh I don’t want to talk about it. Nestea Iced tea is better than these 200 rupees, what they call it Iced Tea. I have ordered bruschetta as well, but they forgot about it, but didn’t forget to add in the bill though. So, from ordering the food to paying the bill it took almost 2 hours for 1 pizza and 1 pasta and an iced tea.

They give chilli oil and Garlic oil. But instead of infusing garlic and chilli in olive oil, they used refined mixed oil. I don’t understand after charging hell loads of money for these food they can’t even provide an authentic chilli and garlic oil.

Overrated, Over expensive. Pizza was for almost 600, pasta was almost 550 and Iced Tea was 200. They have added Service charges 131...

As I loved the Margherita bufala last time and wanted to try more from the menu visited again on 13 Aug 2023

Our order included: Cuppachino - awesome Latte - awesome Bruchetta originale - The flavor was enjoyable, but it was challenging to eat due to the toppings constantly falling off. Margherita bufala - good Dough balls with Nutella - ohh amazing, I love Nutella. Spicy bruchetta - looked amazing but taste was ok ok Calabrese veg - good

As we used Zomato for bill payment got a good discount on the bill amount.

Experience for 27 Jul 2023: We made a reservation for this place through Zomato to avail of a flat discount.

The ambiance and vibe of this place are incredible, with an open kitchen that allows you to observe the preparation of your pizza and other dishes.

The staff was good, although the service was a bit slow.

Our order included:

Margherita bufala pizza classic 14'' - which we absolutely loved.

Giardiniera (veg loaded) - it was just okay.

Chocolate fudge cake - good, but there is room for improvement.
