Independence Brewery - Balewadi High Street.

Ambience: The place is located right inside BHS vicinity, hence it lives up to the expectations. It has outdoor open–air seating as well as a comfortable nicely done interior seating.

Service: Since I was invited by the place, obviously the service right from the valet parking and food ordering was quiet friendly and helpful. The waiters here know the dishes on the menu card quite well, the also suggested me dishes according to my requirement.

Chettinad Prawn Sukka – 695/-

Masala Brioche + Curry Lead & Coriander Pesto

I’m a big fan of chettinad preparation. However, in Pune almost every restaurant has their own version. The one served here with Prawns was delicious.

The prawns were juicy and cooked perfectly. A must try dish for the Prawns lovers without a doubt.

It was served with masala pav or what is also called as Masala Brioche. Brioche is nothing but French bread, a cross between a pastry and bread.

Brioche is supposed to be made from high egg and butter content which gives it a rich and tender crumb.

Harissa Chicken Skewer – 395/-

Harissa is a hot chili with main ingredient being the roasted red peppers.

The Chicken skewer were top notch. Perfectly balanced flavors with juicy chicken

Batter Fried Fish N Chips - 645/-

This England dish is available at many places in Pune. I’m not a particular fan of this dish, but this place did a good job.

The fish wasn’t Basa as I had expected, but can’t recollect the fish name, apologies. Served with generous quantity of fries, tomato sauce and sour cream.

Chicken Machboos – 695/-

Spiced Basmati Rice + Red Chili +Cinammon +Boiled Egg

Completely unaware what this dish is, I requested the waiter to explain this one for me.

He mentioned that the Machboos is a cross between biryani and risotto, where the rice is cooked in the spiced broth of the meat or chicken in this case,

However, I found the dish for my palate to be just okay.

Bier Misu – 345/-

A fantastic, tempting and must try item from the desserts section for all the tiramisu lovers.

The presentation was top notch, it looked really pretty! The texture was too good.

Coffee Caviar

Raspberry Vodka – 245/-

Ice cream basically with some interesting fusion of vodka and raspberry. Served two small scoops, felt quite less at first, but one the very first bite, it just blew my mind. This was done so neatly, the blending of the ice cream flavor with alcohol was mesmerizing.

Beers: I’m a big fan of their Belgian Wit, and If you ask me, this place serves the best Belgian Wit beer in Pune. I did dare to try their ‘HOPPY HIGH’ from the tasters. My partner in crime for this tasting opted for IXACACAO HD(chocolate stout) which she mentioned was quite enjoyable. Below are the standard rates of the beer, however the prices differ for every variant.

Oh Boy, Independence BrewCo has got some vibe!

One of the best breweries in the area. The place is located nicely on the opp side of the Balewadi High Street (super Hustle-Bustle area if you don’t know already). Must say, strategically well balanced look from either side.

IBC has a huge place with a small semi outdoor and lavish indoor seating options. At the entrance there is a small bistro kind of seating with a mix of high /mid tables and a bright set-up. Then, you have an indoor seating option in all fancy interior and majestic color to give those vibrant vibes and comfortable seating around the bar and brew-tap. IT folks, you can have your endless corporate parties here (Do tell them, #TheBloggerBuddy has recommended you for this)

We started the session with a set of super-amazing tasters and I must tell you that these beer bits are amazing considering the wide variety of craft beer you’ll get. A few are smooth and then a few are super bitter or pale as per peopl preferences. But, most beers are available in variety of flavors for everyone to enjoy. I went with Hefeweizen Beer which is basically a good blend of Banana and Clove in a german lager touch. My go-to craft beer as always!

Let’s talk about Service Factor- in my last five visits here, the Staff have always appeared extremely well-trained, skilled, efficient and courteous. Even in this visit, we totally loved their hospitality.

Now, comes the best part i.e, Food - We had a few delicacies and out of all, but top recommendations are: Prawns and Calamari Ajilo - Fell in love with this preparation. Prawns and Calamari was tender and juicy. It was topped with chilli and garlic flakes and served with baguette. Highly recommended. Falafel and Pita wrap - a nice starter which had a lovely hummus - chick peas and black beans ones with pita bread, tikka, kebabs and lot more. The portion size seems really well placed. Chicken Burger - They have a burger fest going on and burgers are huge with big and soft bun and nice and crispy patty served with lots of veggies and fries. It is a meal in itself. We had Quattro Cheese flat bread with veggies. Baklawa Cheesecake - From the looks of it, we could totally say this was the real winner of the session. A total delight for all the cheesecake lovers. Perfectly toned up sweetness and texture wise.

It is a good place to unwind with friends and family. IBC has been a legend in the craft beer space off lately and has won many awards for the superb brews they have produced over the years.

This outlet in BHS has been our one of the favourite to destress and I got very happy to see them expand to the new place in Kalyaninagar now. After all, why should only the folks who live this side of the town have fun, eh!
