My experience at this venue was nothing short of disappointing and frustrating. If you're considering hosting your wedding or any significant event here, I urge you to think twice. Despite being a customer who has paid a considerable amount for the venue, the treatment we received made us feel like mere intruders rather than valued guests.
One of the most shocking restrictions we faced was the complete ban on photography in and around the venue premises. We were not allowed to take even a single photograph of the bride and groom outside the banquet hall—not in the beautiful surroundings, not at the entrance, not in any of the open spaces. It’s hard to believe that in this day and age, especially for an event as precious as a wedding, such unreasonable limitations would be enforced. The only place where photography was permitted was inside the banquet hall, which severely restricted our ability to capture meaningful and picturesque moments.
The entire experience was reminiscent of colonial times—as if the space was designed for elite British officials, and we were just "tolerated" because we could afford to pay. There was a sense of condescension and control that hung over the entire affair, stripping the joy and freedom that one should feel on a special occasion.
Weddings are about creating memories and capturing moments that last a lifetime. Sadly, this venue seems to be more focused on enforcing outdated and authoritarian rules than on providing a welcoming, guest-friendly atmosphere. I sincerely hope no one else has to go through the kind of...
Read moreWe were lucky to visit boat club during Lohri on Sunday Jan 15th. The festivies were held in the lawn area. It had a great cast of performers. Kudos to all that put the event together. It was memorable. The singers sang a variety of songs, there was positive energy with the music and the food spread was great. We had a few dishes and they would mouth watering good. We wanted more to ate at the restaurant as well.
The boat club has great facilities (tennis, card room, gym, spa, etc). Its location is quaint with lush trees around. The enterance is well lit, and the club offers ample parking. The reception area is staffed, you get greeted with a smile and staff is helpful. The food and drinks menu is ample. The food tastes fresh and is delicious. We tried the paneer tikka, cheese balls, capsium pizza, sweet corn soup and several other entrees. All struck a good cord with the taste buds.
The facilities offers youth and adults a lot of activities. The facilities are clean and well maintained. For instance tennis courts are hard court and have no visible cracks. The coaches are welcoming. The card room is large, gym has good equipment. Its a good club and if you are a member you are is good hands. The executive leadership and president are doing a fantastic job!
And thank you to our friends who are members and...
Read moreThe rest of the place is good, nice, decent and good food. But, my experience the gentleman manning the front office was terribly bad. Totally insensitive, rigid and inhuman to say the least.
I had visited RCBC for a lunch party and reached there early. Being a Kidney Transplantee, I requested the person to allow me to grab something since I had walked a lot and was feeling weak & was panting. I explained to him my physical condition and also mentioned to him a few names of members and that I was here for the party. And I was not an outsider who had just walked in.
I my utter surprise and disappointment, he just refused to allow me to visit the restaurant citing rules. Not even for a sandwich. Nothing at all. He kept on telling me it is against the rules.
However, he did call for an auto for me to go out and eat. He did seem to have a heart...
Have we degraded ourselves so much? A patient is standing there panting and wanting to eat something to gain some energy, and this person is playing the rule game with me. Is there no humanity left? None at all? Are rules created by man supreme over man and under such a situation?
If the authorities are reading this, I earnestly request them to please provide some sensitivity training to the staff members.
I did not ask the name the staff member, but I will recognise him if...
