After reading good reviews of the restaurant I visited with my family on Sunday for lunch we were 6 of us. We ordered Solkadhi, spring rolls , bhendi , kothimbir wadi for starters , promptly served they all were delicious however I felt the bhendi was a bit salty. By the time our starters were done over we ordered main course , coconut sabji, cashewnut and sev bhaji , ghavana, bhakri and chapati . It took more time to serve us the main course, the food served was not that hot this is were the disappointment started the ghavne was ice cold , one bhakri short , we ordered cold water which took ages to come . The repeat bread order was too slow , I believe if you cannot cater to this volume you should take only limited numbers . We had ordered carrot koshimbir which was served at the end of our meal , we had ordered wadha bhat which never came . The food taste was okiesh I suggest if it was piping hot along with hot Breda it would have tasted much better .. I will not blame the servers as they were not allocated their sections which caused them going at each table of the restaurant. That’s where no one knew what is pending or if someone needed something. chef was going to most of the tables but was hesitant to come to our table anyway that’s not the point when you charge good amount you as a restaurant need to deliver delicious food with prompt service it’s nonnegotiable. At the end after paying the bill tried to give feedback to the chef instead of paying attention to me he turned around and started talking to the other gentleman who was at the pass . The cleanliness at the washrooms was not good at all , while we were walking out of the restaurant we could see tissues , food crumbs all fallen on the floor no one to pick up these are basics for a busy restaurant isn’t it . I was disappointed and wasted my time and money will not go there again . You know when you have one of those days you crave for an almost home style Maharashtrian food but from different parts of Maharashtra.... I had a similar feeling today and we decided to go to Saandan (pronounced Saaan dun - like done) off Paud road. Based off the pictures I saw and the menu online I was excited to try the traditional Maharshtrian foods from various parts of the state. But, upon reaching the restaurant, I found to my dismay just 1 side of a page with just 6-8 dishes... The 10 other pages were paneer lababdaar,dal fry, veg kolhapuri( you get the idea 😑). We ordered the masala Bhakri ( tired rendition of its cousin the masala papad), the Kaap ( slices of apparently potato and yam) coated in spices and sooji and shallow fried in this case. The potato was fried in oil at a lower temp and then the heat suddenly yanked which let the outer coating cook but the potato was 3/4th cooked and oily... So far, things looked bleak so I adventurously decided to order raw banana flower sabzi with rice bhakri( supposed to be served with chirote and thecha, got shengdana chutney and thecha) . I honestly thought there would be delicate flavours at play but was sadly.mistaken... all I could taste was Garam masala...So I ate one bhakri and called it a day. My partner's maaswadi and bhakri were just below average. The food so far lacked flavour and seasoning both... The saving grace was the Saandan (jackfruit/mango)- we ordered the mango ( Mango rice cake immersed in coconut milk). I guess by then my expectations has plummeted and I enjoyed a siah that was simply flavoured but yet took me to a beach in the Konkan. My 2 stars are awarded only for the Mango Saandan. The staff seemed hospitable enough and parking...

I recently visited Saandan in Kothrud, and it was truly a delightful experience for anyone who loves Maharashtrian and Kokani flavors. The restaurant has a warm and authentic vibe that instantly makes you feel connected to traditional coastal and Maharashtrian culture. The food was simply outstanding: Tender Coconut Tikka – A unique dish that immediately stood out. The delicate sweetness of tender coconut blended with the smoky tikka flavors was refreshing and innovative. Phanas (Jackfruit) Cutlet – Crispy on the outside, soft inside, and full of rich flavors. A perfect starter that highlighted how versatile jackfruit can be in traditional cooking. Kulith Pithla – Comfort food at its best. Creamy, earthy, and seasoned perfectly. It paired beautifully with the bhakri. Tandul Bhakri – Soft, perfectly roasted, and a great companion to the pithla and kaap. Suran Kaap – Golden, crisp slices with just the right amount of spices. A must-try for anyone who enjoys traditional Maharashtrian-style kaap. Saandan Special Mango Dessert – The perfect end to the meal. Fresh, fruity, and indulgent without being overly sweet. What I loved most was how every dish had an authentic touch while also offering something innovative. The flavors were homely yet elevated, and the use of traditional ingredients was spot on. The service was attentive, and the staff made sure we had a great experience. The ambiance, with its Maharashtrian theme, added to the overall charm. Visited Saandan and was pleasantly surprised at the unique cuisine. The menu was vast and every dish tasted like nothing I have had before. It opened up a new vista of taste for us. Sol Kadhi whipped up the appetite with its wholesome texture and deliciousness. Tomato Che Saar and Kalan were an introduction to how soups can be very different and tantalize the taste buds. Nagpuri Spring Roll was tasty, given the very unusual filling. Kaap that had thinly cut potato and yam pieces, sprinkled with masala was my favorite. Crisp and very tasty. In the main course, we ordered Jwari Bhakri and Ghavan with Pat Wadi Rassa and Tender Coconut Bhaji. I was so impressed by the overall taste, especially the Tender Coconut Bhaji, which was a first time delicacy for me. The balance of taste was remarkable. The Jwari ji Bhakri complemented the Pat Wadi Rassa very well. Topped off the gastronomic experience with Sandan Mango, a delicacy that will stay with me till my next visit. This restaurant opens up a new Maharashtrian cuisine experience. Good service with an explanation on exactly what you are opting for from the menu. Ethnic ambience with beautiful frames from Pandharpur, hygienic and good seating arrangements with an AC and non-AC section. Prices are very reasonable for what you get by way of taste and quantity. Visit it and you will love what you get.

*एक्सक्लुझिव्ह सांदण - "वन स्टॉप शॉप "* सांदण - नावावरून लगेचच क्लिक होतं आणि आपण लगेचच वर्चुअली कोकणात पोचतो...कोकणातला पारंपारिक पदार्थ.अतिशय चविष्ट.फणस आवडणाऱ्यासाठी पर्वणीच असते... परंतु सांदण कोणत्याही गोष्टीचे करता येते आंब्याचे सुद्धा करतात...आणि असेच अगदी कोकणातील पदार्थ समजा तुम्हाला पुण्यात मिळत असतील तर अजून काय हवे? त्यांची स्पेशालिटी अर्थातच कोकणी पदार्थांसोबतच काही नवीन पदार्थ त्यांनी लॉन्च केले आहेत ते टेस्ट करायसाठी मी गेलो होतो. पारंपारिक कोकणी पदार्थांकडे जास्त प्रमाणात प्रौढ वर्ग आकर्षित होतो परंतु त्यासोबतच तरुण वर्ग सुद्धा आकर्षित व्हावा म्हणून त्यांनी पारंपारिक पदार्थांना थोडा मॉडनटच दिला आहे आणि काही नवीन पदार्थ सुद्धा लाँच केल्या आहेत. म्हणूनच मगाशी वर म्हणलो तसं काळाची गरज आहे असे म्हणू शकतो. आता मेन मुद्द्याकडे वळूयात :-) कारण की टेस्ट केलेले सगळेच पदार्थ एक से एक स्पेशल आणि एवढे छान बनवले होते की त्याबद्दल खरोखर मी उत्सुक आहे वर्णन करायला *गरम गरम सार* आम्हाला गेल्या गेल्या मस्त टोमॅटो सार आणि कळण म्हणजेच कडधान्याचे सार आणून दिले. *टोमॅटो सार* - एकदम घट्ट आणि प्रत्येक घोट घश्याखाली गेला कि मस्त मुबलक खोबरे आणि जिरे दोघांचाही आस्वाद येतो!! *कळण* - कोणत्याही कडधान्यांच्या कॉम्बिनेशन ने हे सार बनवता येते. आम्हाला इकडे कुळीथ कळण मिळाले होते. एकदम मस्त पैकी वाफाळते चवीला एकदम भारी आणि प्रचंड हेल्दी. अवश्य ट्राय करा *नाचणी आंबील* : हेल्दी आंबील आणि त्यामध्ये मस्त आलं लसणाचा स्वाद प्लस किंचित गुठळ्या असे परफेक्ट कॉम्बिनेशन. *स्टार्टर्स* मस्त गरम गरम सार पिऊन झाल्यावर आता नंबर लागला स्टार्टर्स चा. *फणस कटलेट* - एकदम हेल्दी प्रिपरेशन. एक थेंब सुद्धा तेल कुठे दिसले नाही. टेस्टला एकदम क्रिस्पी आणि मटकीच्या सलाड बरोबर सर्व्ह केले होते. मी पुण्यात हा पदार्थ कुठेही खाल्ला नाही. एकदम जबरदस्त. *नागपूरी स्प्रिंग रोल* - कुरकुरीत कव्हर आणि त्यात सुकवलेले खोबरे , धणे , मिरची पावडर , कांदा , खसखस आणि इतर मसाले या मिश्रणाची भट्टी एकदम झकास. आता तर खरी मजा सुरु झाली. ह्यांच्या भात्यातील एक एक अस्त्र बाहेर यायला लागली जेंव्हा मेन कोर्स सुरु झाला. *काजू तोंडली ड्राय भाजी* - अस्सल कोकणी स्टाईल ने बनवलेली ... काजू पण मस्त शिजले होते आणि मसाला पण परफेफ्ट लागला होता. *काळा वाटाणा उसळ* - मस्त भरपूर खोबरे आणि नारळाचे दूध वापरून बनवलेली छान उसळ आमच्यासमोर पेश केली होती... तांदळाच्या भाकरी सोबत आणि घावना सोबत (घावणे ) एकदम मस्त कॉम्बिनेशन *कॅपसिकम मसाला* - म्हणजे थोडक्यात भरलेली ढोबळी मिरची. चवीला छान होती थोडी तिखट मसालेदार कडे कल जास्त. वरती केलेल्या पुण्याच्या वडीमध्ये जसे भरण असते त्याच प्रकारचा मसाला याच्यामध्ये होता. *केळफुलाची भाजी* : ज्यांना फणस भाजी आवडते त्यांना तरी नक्कीच आवडेल. केळफुल आणि भरपूर मुबलक प्रमाणात दाणे आणि खोबरे त्यामुळे चव किंचितशी गोडसर. पण एवढे मात्र नक्की की बऱ्याच कमी ठिकाणी हा पदार्थ मिळतो म्हणजे पुण्यात तर मी इकडे सांदण मध्येच पहिल्यांदा खाल्ला. *शाहाळ्याची भाजी* - शाहाळ्याची भाजी न घेता इकडून समजा निघून गेलात तर तो गुन्हा ठरू शकतो. ह्यांच्या सर्वोत्तम आणि एकदम युनिक पदार्थांपैकी एक आणि मोस्ट रिकामेन्डेड पदार्थ..... नाही आवडला तर माझ्याकडून पैसे परत. हे सगळे मेन कोर्स चे लाड सुरु असताना side ला हळूच सोलकढी चे ग्लास च्या ग्लास संपत होते :-) सोलकढी एकदम घट्ट आणि शंभर टक्के नारळाच्या दुधापासून बनवलेली आता वेळ होती गोड पदार्थांची. *पियुष* : जेवण संपता संपता मस्तपैकी थंडगार पियुष हजर. *फ्रुट वलावल* : मस्त गरम गरम नारळाचे दूध त्यामध्ये आणखीन एक दोन छान फ्लेवर मिक्स केले होते आणि त्यामध्ये भरपूर प्रमाणात सफरचंद केळी आणि अननस यांचे मस्त बारीक तुकडे चिरून हे डेजर्ट बनवले होते. याची क्वांटीटी पण तुफान होती आणि चवीला सुद्धा अतिशय युनिक म्हणजे मला वाटत नाही हे असे कुठे पुण्यात इतर ठिकाणी मिळत असेल. *घावन घाटले* - कोकणी माणसाला हे नाव माहित नाही हे अशक्यच :-) घाटले म्हणजे घट्ट नारळाचे दूध आणि गूळ . हे कॉम्बिनेशन अनेको वर्षांपासून आहे आणि खरोखर सांदण टीमचे आभार त्यांनी हे कॉम्बिनेशन परत नव्याने लोकांसमोर आणले. तुम्हाला महाराष्ट्रातील पारंपरिक पदार्थ ते सुद्धा विविध कानाकोपऱ्यात मिळणारे समजा एका छताखाली आस्वादायचे असतील तर सांदणला नक्की भेट द्या. किंमत अर्थातच प्रीमियम आहे. लोकेशन त्यानंतर इन्फ्रास्ट्रक्चर आणि पदार्थांची क्वालिटी आणि युनिकनेस त्याचबरोबर पदार्थ बनवायला लागणारा किचकटपणा आणि एफर्ट्स बघता ट्राय करायला काहीच हरकत नाही. *पत्ता* : off Paud Road, above Digambar Hall, Rambaug Colony, Kothrud, Pune, Maharashtra 411038

Visited Saandan and was pleasantly surprised at the unique cuisine. The menu was vast and every dish tasted like nothing I have had before. It opened up a new vista of taste for us. Sol Kadhi whipped up the appetite with its wholesome texture and deliciousness. Tomato Che Saar and Kalan were an introduction to how soups can be very different and tantalize the taste buds. Nagpuri Spring Roll was tasty, given the very unusual filling. Kaap that had thinly cut potato and yam pieces, sprinkled with masala was my favorite. Crisp and very tasty. In the main course, we ordered Jwari Bhakri and Ghavan with Pat Wadi Rassa and Tender Coconut Bhaji. I was so impressed by the overall taste, especially the Tender Coconut Bhaji, which was a first time delicacy for me. The balance of taste was remarkable. The Jwari ji Bhakri complemented the Pat Wadi Rassa very well. Topped off the gastronomic experience with Sandan Mango, a delicacy that will stay with me till my next visit. This restaurant opens up a new Maharashtrian cuisine experience. Good service with an explanation on exactly what you are opting for from the menu. Ethnic ambience with beautiful frames from Pandharpur, hygienic and good seating arrangements with an AC and non-AC section. Prices are very reasonable for what you get by way of taste and quantity. Visit it and you will love what you get.

*एक्सक्लुझिव्ह सांदण - "वन स्टॉप शॉप "* सांदण - नावावरून लगेचच क्लिक होतं आणि आपण लगेचच वर्चुअली कोकणात पोचतो...कोकणातला पारंपारिक पदार्थ.अतिशय चविष्ट.फणस आवडणाऱ्यासाठी पर्वणीच असते... परंतु सांदण कोणत्याही गोष्टीचे करता येते आंब्याचे सुद्धा करतात...आणि असेच अगदी कोकणातील पदार्थ समजा तुम्हाला पुण्यात मिळत असतील तर अजून काय हवे? त्यांची स्पेशालिटी अर्थातच कोकणी पदार्थांसोबतच काही नवीन पदार्थ त्यांनी लॉन्च केले आहेत ते टेस्ट करायसाठी मी गेलो होतो. पारंपारिक कोकणी पदार्थांकडे जास्त प्रमाणात प्रौढ वर्ग आकर्षित होतो परंतु त्यासोबतच तरुण वर्ग सुद्धा आकर्षित व्हावा म्हणून त्यांनी पारंपारिक पदार्थांना थोडा मॉडनटच दिला आहे आणि काही नवीन पदार्थ सुद्धा लाँच केल्या आहेत. म्हणूनच मगाशी वर म्हणलो तसं काळाची गरज आहे असे म्हणू शकतो. आता मेन मुद्द्याकडे वळूयात :-) कारण की टेस्ट केलेले सगळेच पदार्थ एक से एक स्पेशल आणि एवढे छान बनवले होते की त्याबद्दल खरोखर मी उत्सुक आहे वर्णन करायला *गरम गरम सार* आम्हाला गेल्या गेल्या मस्त टोमॅटो सार आणि कळण म्हणजेच कडधान्याचे सार आणून दिले. *टोमॅटो सार* - एकदम घट्ट आणि प्रत्येक घोट घश्याखाली गेला कि मस्त मुबलक खोबरे आणि जिरे दोघांचाही आस्वाद येतो!! *कळण* - कोणत्याही कडधान्यांच्या कॉम्बिनेशन ने हे सार बनवता येते. आम्हाला इकडे कुळीथ कळण मिळाले होते. एकदम मस्त पैकी वाफाळते चवीला एकदम भारी आणि प्रचंड हेल्दी. अवश्य ट्राय करा *नाचणी आंबील* : हेल्दी आंबील आणि त्यामध्ये मस्त आलं लसणाचा स्वाद प्लस किंचित गुठळ्या असे परफेक्ट कॉम्बिनेशन. *स्टार्टर्स* मस्त गरम गरम सार पिऊन झाल्यावर आता नंबर लागला स्टार्टर्स चा. *फणस कटलेट* - एकदम हेल्दी प्रिपरेशन. एक थेंब सुद्धा तेल कुठे दिसले नाही. टेस्टला एकदम क्रिस्पी आणि मटकीच्या सलाड बरोबर सर्व्ह केले होते. मी पुण्यात हा पदार्थ कुठेही खाल्ला नाही. एकदम जबरदस्त. *नागपूरी स्प्रिंग रोल* - कुरकुरीत कव्हर आणि त्यात सुकवलेले खोबरे , धणे , मिरची पावडर , कांदा , खसखस आणि इतर मसाले या मिश्रणाची भट्टी एकदम झकास. आता तर खरी मजा सुरु झाली. ह्यांच्या भात्यातील एक एक अस्त्र बाहेर यायला लागली जेंव्हा मेन कोर्स सुरु झाला. *काजू तोंडली ड्राय भाजी* - अस्सल कोकणी स्टाईल ने बनवलेली ... काजू पण मस्त शिजले होते आणि मसाला पण परफेफ्ट लागला होता. *काळा वाटाणा उसळ* - मस्त भरपूर खोबरे आणि नारळाचे दूध वापरून बनवलेली छान उसळ आमच्यासमोर पेश केली होती... तांदळाच्या भाकरी सोबत आणि घावना सोबत (घावणे ) एकदम मस्त कॉम्बिनेशन *कॅपसिकम मसाला* - म्हणजे थोडक्यात भरलेली ढोबळी मिरची. चवीला छान होती थोडी तिखट मसालेदार कडे कल जास्त. वरती केलेल्या पुण्याच्या वडीमध्ये जसे भरण असते त्याच प्रकारचा मसाला याच्यामध्ये होता. *केळफुलाची भाजी* : ज्यांना फणस भाजी आवडते त्यांना तरी नक्कीच आवडेल. केळफुल आणि भरपूर मुबलक प्रमाणात दाणे आणि खोबरे त्यामुळे चव किंचितशी गोडसर. पण एवढे मात्र नक्की की बऱ्याच कमी ठिकाणी हा पदार्थ मिळतो म्हणजे पुण्यात तर मी इकडे सांदण मध्येच पहिल्यांदा खाल्ला. *शाहाळ्याची भाजी* - शाहाळ्याची भाजी न घेता इकडून समजा निघून गेलात तर तो गुन्हा ठरू शकतो. ह्यांच्या सर्वोत्तम आणि एकदम युनिक पदार्थांपैकी एक आणि मोस्ट रिकामेन्डेड पदार्थ..... नाही आवडला तर माझ्याकडून पैसे परत. हे सगळे मेन कोर्स चे लाड सुरु असताना side ला हळूच सोलकढी चे ग्लास च्या ग्लास संपत होते :-) सोलकढी एकदम घट्ट आणि शंभर टक्के नारळाच्या दुधापासून बनवलेली आता वेळ होती गोड पदार्थांची. *पियुष* : जेवण संपता संपता मस्तपैकी थंडगार पियुष हजर. *फ्रुट वलावल* : मस्त गरम गरम नारळाचे दूध त्यामध्ये आणखीन एक दोन छान फ्लेवर मिक्स केले होते आणि त्यामध्ये भरपूर प्रमाणात सफरचंद केळी आणि अननस यांचे मस्त बारीक तुकडे चिरून हे डेजर्ट बनवले होते. याची क्वांटीटी पण तुफान होती आणि चवीला सुद्धा अतिशय युनिक म्हणजे मला वाटत नाही हे असे कुठे पुण्यात इतर ठिकाणी मिळत असेल. *घावन घाटले* - कोकणी माणसाला हे नाव माहित नाही हे अशक्यच :-) घाटले म्हणजे घट्ट नारळाचे दूध आणि गूळ . हे कॉम्बिनेशन अनेको वर्षांपासून आहे आणि खरोखर सांदण टीमचे आभार त्यांनी हे कॉम्बिनेशन परत नव्याने लोकांसमोर आणले. तुम्हाला महाराष्ट्रातील पारंपरिक पदार्थ ते सुद्धा विविध कानाकोपऱ्यात मिळणारे समजा एका छताखाली आस्वादायचे असतील तर सांदणला नक्की भेट द्या. किंमत अर्थातच प्रीमियम आहे. लोकेशन त्यानंतर इन्फ्रास्ट्रक्चर आणि पदार्थांची क्वालिटी आणि युनिकनेस त्याचबरोबर पदार्थ बनवायला लागणारा किचकटपणा आणि एफर्ट्स बघता ट्राय करायला काहीच हरकत नाही. *पत्ता* : off Paud Road, above Digambar Hall, Rambaug Colony, Kothrud, Pune, Maharashtra 411038
