I am disappointed to report that my second visit to Ashok Mathi Kulcha was a far cry from the exceptional experience I had during my first visit. Back then, they operated from a rehri, and their mathi (crispy) kulcha was truly delicious.
Fast forward to today, and they've shifted to a nearby shop. I was excited to indulge in their signature dish once again, but unfortunately, it failed to impress. The mathi kulcha I ordered was nothing special – the kulcha itself, the filling, and the accompanying chane (chickpeas) were all strictly average.
What's more disappointing is that this type of kulcha is readily available at many shops in Amritsar, and Ashok Mathi Kulcha's version didn't stand out in any way. The quality seems to have taken a hit since their relocation, and I couldn't help but feel underwhelmed.
