Title: Extremely Disappointing Experience – Hotel Baklavi Canal Road, Ludhiana
Hotel Baklavi, Canal Road, Ludhiana — though newly opened barely a year ago and positioned as a so-called luxurious property on the new Ferozepur–Pathankot stretch — turned out to be one of the most rigid, poorly managed, and unprofessional establishments I have ever stayed at.
From the very moment of arrival, the attitude of the front desk and parking staff reflected sheer indifference. There was absolutely no sense of courtesy or hospitality. Neither did anyone bother to assist properly with luggage, nor did they care whether our belongings were safely handled. One of their staff members, Mr. Swarn Singh, even took my baggage inside the reception area without my consent, leaving me completely unattended. His demeanor was dismissive and unbothered — a stark contradiction to what one expects from any hotel, let alone one claiming to be premium.
The entire experience was worsened by the restaurant service. My first order — Penne Arrabbiata pasta — was shockingly served from what seemed like leftovers of a previous order. The pasta was cold, stale, and clearly reheated. Within minutes of consuming it, I began to feel unwell and had to take medication due to stomach discomfort. Only after complaining did they reluctantly send a freshly cooked plate, but by then, the damage was already done.
The management appears utterly clueless about guest satisfaction or hygiene standards. Even Mr. Rajput, who was supposed to manage the situation, stood speechless and incapable of handling the issue with any professionalism.
Overall, Hotel Baklavi’s operations are a complete embarrassment to Ludhiana’s hospitality scene — marked by arrogance, negligence, and poor hygiene. For a hotel claiming to be in the “heart of Ludhiana’s new luxury belt,” it is nothing more than a shiny facade hiding incompetence and carelessness.
Verdict: Not recommended at all — avoid if you value professionalism, cleanliness, or basic...
Read moreOne of the worst restaurant experiences we’ve had — and we came all the way from the U.S.
We were excited to dine at Baklavi, but were refused service simply because we brought our own water bottle — which we’ve been using throughout our stay in India due to medical sensitivity and water safety concerns.
We offered to pay for the same brand of bottled water if they could provide it, or even pay a fee to continue using our sealed personal bottle. Instead, the staff were dismissive, smug, and flat-out rude. No effort to listen. No willingness to accommodate. Just arrogance and attitude.
This wasn’t a policy issue — this was a complete lack of basic decency and hospitality. For a restaurant that presents itself as upscale and welcoming, their behavior was anything but.
If you’re a traveler, have dietary or medical sensitivities, or simply value kindness — do yourself a favor and stay far away from this place.
There are countless restaurants in India that show respect, flexibility, and genuine hospitality. Baklavi is not...
Read moreI recently had the pleasure of dining at Baklavi Bar & Kitchen, and it was an absolute delight! The ambiance was warm and inviting, with beautiful decor and comfortable seating. The service was impeccable, with attentive and friendly staff who were always ready to assist. The menu offered a diverse range of dishes, from mouthwatering appetizers to delectable main courses. I started with the creamy spinach and mushroom pizza, which was a perfect blend of flavors and textures. The crust was crispy, and the toppings were generous and flavorful. For the main course, I opted for the chicken tikka masala, which was cooked to perfection. The chicken was tender and juicy, and the sauce was rich and flavorful. To top it all off, I couldn't resist indulging in their decadent desserts. Overall, I had an exceptional dining experience at Baklavi Bar & Kitchen. The food was delicious, the service was excellent, and the atmosphere was delightful. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a...
