Ok, so I love Biryani by Kilo and have been a loyal customer when I was living in Gurgaon. Having moved to Bangalore in 2019, I missed the tasty biryanis by BBK. I chanced on this outlet today while driving through Mohali and promptly stopped to pick up a Hyderabadi Gosht and a Kathal Biryani. I was told that the order will take 30 min and I decided to wait there. After about 20-25 minutes, 2 gentlemen walked in and ordered a takeaway order of Veg Biryani. The order was keyed in into the system and when they enquired about the tentative wait time, they were told that it will take 25 minutes. These two people seemed to be in a hurry to back to their drinks in their apartment which was very close so they requested that the order be delivered to them but the receptionist informed them that that not possible as they have to call the call centre for deliveries and that the order cannot be cancelled either.🤔
Since the customers persisted (very politely, I must say) that 25 minutes wait time is too long. The receptionist went to the kitchen to talk to the manager, came back, and told the customers that their order will be delivered within 2-3 minutes as they will give them some “other customer’s” order.
After they left with their order, I spoke to the receptionist if she thought what she did was professionally correct? She didn't seem to understand.
My peev is that, the receptionist and the manager behaved professionally because they might have expedited this order but an unsuspecting faceless customer’s order was delayed. Also, why couldn't this order be cancelled as the receptionist had just placed it, the customers wanted to cancel it and order a delivery on phone.
Also, I patiently waited for my order which took 35-40 minutes, had I also threatened to cancel my order, would the restaurant expedite my order too. Just a thought!
I still love BBK, will continue to order from them. But not from...
Read moreI am sorry to write this horrible experience. Normally I don't give negative feedback and such reviews but this Biryani By Kilo restaurant at Sector 82 spoiled our evening by serving Uncooked Biryani. I am a regular customer of Biryani By Kilo through their Delivery system but on 20/09/2019 I thought to take my family out for dinner at their outlet in Mohali. We ordered Hyderabadi Dum Biryani, it was served nicely , the moment we started eating it rice were half cooked. Even the rice used were not the same we used to get when we order for parcel. Seems like Dawat/India Gate Mogra rice are used, but I believe they shall either use Dubar or Tiber as those rice are recommended for Biryani.
The moment we complained about the same, restaurant people also agreed that these rice are not cooked properly and we ordered a new one which was served after 30 mins. And to our surprise rice were again half cooked. We even called manager and chef of the outlet, my wife didn't eat this at all and I also left the biryani in the plate. I asked for the Bill and see the height of nuisance they charged us for both the Biryani portion and gave a discount of 15% on the total order. I paid 812/- and moved out of the restaurant.
We had to sleep without filling our stomach as we came out of the restaurant around 9:30 and were not having strength to go somewhere else after messing up 2 hrs at Biryani By Kilo Sector 82 Mohali outlet.
Not sure what kind of customer service is this that such brands really don't bother about food quality and client satisfaction.
Horrible experience dining out there. Experience of Parcel Biryani is good though.
Dining In is seriously not recommended. I shall term it as the worst experience of dining out in...
Read moreHad their biryani yet again from this newly opened outlet of theirs, and yet again the same taste the same aroma. So I had complete dinner from here, I had the following items from here:
Hyderabadi chicken biryani: They actually mean it, The flavours, those spices and as much I know the process followed would have been Hyderabadi too. The aroma of their biyani is so good, that you just can't resist it., and yes the salan was show stealer, totally loved it. Chicken Korma: this was delectable, The gravy was so damn good, not spicy, was mild, creamy, thick and chicken was fully cooked and had perfct taste. would surely recommend this one😋😋
Ulte tawe k paranthe: they were a bit like rumali roti, but a better version of that. Though I am not sure but unlike last time I did not felt that it is entirely maida, maybe I am wrong but it was better. Phirni: this was just the perfect ending, rich creamy thick and perfectly sweet, this was delicious. It will surely make you crave to have more.
I just loved my experience with them, and yes they provide aanch box along with biryani to ensure that you have hot n fresh biryani...
