Terrible Experience at Domino's, Phase V, Mohali
I had an extremely frustrating experience at Domino’s Phase V, Mohali, and I want to share it so that others can be cautious when ordering.
Wrong Order and Miscommunication
I visited the restaurant with my child and ordered a Veg Pizza with maximum vegetables. The lady at the counter suggested Veggie Supreme, which I agreed to. I also ordered Garlic Bread with Cheese, and she suggested one with Corn and Jalapeños, and I agreed.
I paid ₹622 online and was told my order would be ready in 10 minutes.
When I returned, a different lady was at the counter. She informed me that my order was a Non-Veg Supreme Pizza. Shocked, I told her that I am a vegetarian and would never order non-veg. She casually responded, "We don't have any Veggie Supreme option."
This was completely unacceptable, as I had clearly ordered a vegetarian pizza. Since I could not eat a non-veg pizza, I refused to accept it and walked out.
Delayed Service and Poor Handling
A staff member followed me outside, apologized, and said they would now prepare a Veg Pizza for me, but I had to wait another 10 minutes.
When I returned inside, they were still preparing my pizza, and I had to wait 5 more minutes before finally receiving it.
Missing Item, Overcharging & Billing Fraud
After receiving my pizza, I asked for my Garlic Bread, but the staff denied that I had ordered it.
They showed me a bill that had only the pizza listed, even though I had paid for the Garlic Bread as well. The amount I had paid for the Garlic Bread was incorrectly shown as "change returned", even though I had made an online payment and received no refund.
Even more shocking was that the bill amount displayed on the receipt was ₹455.70, while I had actually paid ₹622. This raises serious concerns about overcharging and billing discrepancies.
When I questioned this, they simply said it was an internal error and would be "checked later."
Rude and Insensitive Staff: What made this experience even worse was that the staff was not even apologetic for their mistakes. Their attitude was as if I was a beggar on their premises, rather than a paying customer.
There was no sense of responsibility, no effort to make up for their blunders, and no basic courtesy in handling a customer’s concern.
Poor Customer Experience
By the time I finally got my food, my mood to eat was ruined. What was supposed to be evening snacks turned into dinner due to unnecessary delays.
Though they eventually gave me the Garlic Bread, they acted like they were doing me a favor, and to make things worse, it wasn’t even the one I ordered.
To top it all off, I was charged for a Non-Veg Pizza (which is more expensive) even though I had ordered a Veg Pizza.
Possible Tax Manipulation & Lack of Transparency
One major issue is that Domino’s Phase V, Mohali, does not provide a bill immediately upon ordering. Instead, they seem to adjust the bills in their system later, which raises concerns about tax manipulation and overcharging customers.
Final Recommendation: Avoid This Outlet!
This experience was nothing short of harassment. I strongly advise all customers to demand their bill immediately after placing an order to ensure they are not being overcharged or scammed.
Domino’s management should take urgent steps to improve billing transparency, staff training, and customer service at this outlet.
I will also be raising a formal complaint with Domino’s...

A brif history about domino's
History
In 1960, brothers James and Tom Monahagan bought, DomiNick's a small pizzeria in Ypsilanti, Michigan. Eight months later, James Monahagan gave his share in the business to his brother in exchange for a second-hand car.
Tom Monahagan, then the sole owner of the business, changed its name to Domino's Pizza Inc. in 1965.
The first franchise store was opened in Ypsilanti in 1967. By 1978, there were two hundred Domino's Pizza outlets across the United States.
International Growth of the Company
The first branch of Domino's Pizza outside of the United Staes was opened in Winnipeg, Canada in 1983.
The number of international outlets had grown to one thousand by 1995 and to one thousand five hundred by 1997.
There are currently branches of Domino's Pizza in fifty-five countries in North and South America, Europe, Asia, Africa and Australasia.
Unlike Pizza Hut, Domino's Pizza stores in Israel are not kosher and offer the same toppings that they do in the rest of the world.
Guaranteed Delivery in Thirty Minutes
For a period of about twenty years, from 1973 onwards, Domino's Pizza promised their customers that they would receive their food within thirty minutes of ordering it. Initially the company promised that if the delivery arrived later than thirty minutes, customers would not have to pay for any pizzas ordered.
In the mid-1980s, the promise was modified. Customers could no longer get all their pizzas for free but they were entitled to three dollars off the cost of their order if it arrived later than thirty minutes.
In 1992 and 1993 court cases were brought against Domino's Pizza by families of people injured or killed by their delivery drivers. Fearful that the public would see the "thirty minute guarantee" as encouraging irresponsible and dangerous driving, the company dropped the promise in 1993.
In December 2007, Domino's Pizza began using a new advertising slogan, "You Got 30 Minutes", a clear reference to their earlier guarantee but not promising customers that food would arrive within thirty minutes...
