Buddha Cafe — Restaurant in Rajasthan

Suraj's guesthouse is a really nice place to stay and work as a professional, and is not a party house but a quiet little oasis. This is amazing, because many places with more tourists can be very noisy and hard to work in. Cannot say enough good things about this place, I am very happy here. If you're looking for a place to chill out and be shanti, this is a good option.

The rooms have little balconies with plants and it is very picturesque, with a lovely view of pushkar rooftops. The rooms are spacious, with a big mirror, clean bathrooms, comfy beds. It doesn't feel like a hotel, but a little home! There is a rooftop on top of the rooms if you stay here, which is perfect for sunset, and a little seating area downstairs, like a mini garden, which is lovely to sit in in the daytime to get some shade. There is even a small natural beehive in the trees!

Suraj's cafe, Buddha cafe, is just downstairs. The cafe has nice seating, has the best food with lots of choice (canelloni and ravioli is the best in town) and Suraj is an amazing proprietor, the place is cleaned every single morning and he is very helpful and kind. Thanks...

The hosts were very welcoming when we arrived.

The downstairs area is comfortable and a pleasant space to relax in whilst eating. The top floor terrace is a little shabby.

The food was good, but would've benefited from a bit more salt and more spice.

We had a long conversation with the host, however this was pretty much focused on him complaining about previous guests which had not left a tip, which began to make us feel uncomfortable. The host continued to be pushy about receiving a tip, literally chanting "tip, tip, tip" at us when we came to pay - this put us off tipping entirely.

The bill itself was nearly double what it should have been, and we had to query this with the host, who corrected it and continued to press us for a tip.

As there are so many other options nearby, I struggle to recommend...

Here are the truths: Good: Nice people towards your face. when I got sick they brought chai to my room. Nice location, nice chai.

Bad: Smokes comes into the room (constantly) from oven, terrible for breathing. I didn't eat there but first night as a group we sat there and 6 of my friend got food poisoning. They didn't even asked for my passport for registration. So some illegal stuff is going on.

Also the SHIVA COURIER Service, is a SCAM! 2 months passed, my parcel did not arrived, I am scammed around 5000 rupees and my parcel with personal belongings perhaps gone. The owner kept me waiting for a while about the tracking number and now not even answering. Currently I am searching for options to report...
