From the moment I first walked into Jajam I was struck by its quiet beauty, peaceful ambience and warm, welcoming people. The building is full of character â it is an inside-outside space filled with cosy corners as well as communal spaces. Jajam is a place you can rely upon whatever your need â it is well equipped as a co-working space (you wonât be disturbed, and there is free wifi and plug sockets for chargers), a place to meet with friends over lunch (the atmosphere is the perfect blend of intimate and open, with great music that enables conversation and is not overpowering) and an ideal spot for spending time alone (take your book, take your journal, sit under the tree and while away a blissful hour or more).
Anannya has not only crafted a beautiful space â she has nurtured an environment that is brimming with creative spirit, warmth, energy and tranquillity. There is a real sense of community in this space. Beyond being a co-working space and coffee shop, the team work hard to faciliate and host a range of interesting events â from bar nights and live music, to local artist talks and yoga sessions. Jajam's doors are open to all, including families and small children. Anyone visiting can be sure they will be greeted with warmth, reliably good coffee and a choice of culinary treats from chef Tanmayâs inspiring rotating menu.
I am ever grateful to Anannya, Tanmay, Bhagyashree and the rest of the Jajam team for bringing their talents and beautiful personalities together to nurture this special place. Although I am from overseas, I feel so much at home here â and this is entirely thanks to the people who have created the vibrant, inclusive and joyful atmosphere that I will continue to enjoy for as long as I am in Udaipur and treasure long after I leave.
Visit Jajam and expect to leave smiling, nourished, with a feeling of peacefulness you didnât even...
Read moreI am from Europe. I have been living in Udaipur for more than 2 years and I have been waiting ever since for a cafe like Jajam to open. Why? Space: Strikingly interesting architecture! This place literally has it all: closed, open, half-open, front garden, courtyard, backside terrace. I mean whatever you come here for - working, socialising, celebrating..you will find the right pocket in Jajam. Music: Ananya has a keen sense for the right type of music for the different times and settings of the day. One of the only places in Udaipur that plays unique ambient music at the right volume. Food: Tanmay, the cook, is well-trained, creative and truly passionate about food. Every Friday and Saturday he is coming up with a new menu, redefining international cuisine from all over the globe with innovative dishes and tantalizing desserts. Every weekend is therefore a must-try! Team: Last but not least - the Jajam team: Friendly, warm, charming and engaging. They are not working for Jajam, they are Jajam. Always looking for new ideas to make this space not only a place to have good food and coffee, but a platform for people to meet, individuals to express and an inclusive community to form. Thank you for creating this...
Read moreI spent a few hours working out of Jajam in Udaipur, and I have to say, the space itself is beautiful. Itâs one of those rare places that instantly makes you feel grounded. The vibe is peaceful, the interiors are tastefully done, and thereâs this quiet creative energy that flows through the space. Whether youâre working, reading, or just thinking, Jajam gives you the calm you donât often find in city cafĂ©s.
That said, since it also doubles as a cafĂ©, I had high hopes for the coffee, and honestly, it wasnât that great. As someone whoâs into specialty coffee and brews at home, I was expecting a bit more depth and balance in flavour. The coffee felt flat, and it didnât really do justice to the otherwise thoughtful ambience of the place.
Still, Jajam as a coworking cafĂ© is a lovely concept, itâs peaceful, inspiring, and clearly built with intention. I just wish the coffee matched the same level of care thatâs gone into the design and atmosphere. A small improvement on that front, and it could easily become one of Udaipurâs finest...
