I’ve now been to Aosa three times during my visit to Udaipur, and each visit has given me more reasons to appreciate this place — along with a couple of areas for improvement.
As someone who works remotely for a U.S.-based job, I’ve been testing out different cafes in Udaipur for daytime work. Aosa stood out immediately for its ambiance and setup. On my first visit, I was just scoping it out. On the second, I came to work — and ordered a lamb pepperoni flatbread pizza (a rare and exciting find in India!) and an iced long black coffee. Both were exceptional and truly up to global standards.
I say that confidently — I’m a foodie who’s traveled extensively just to eat: NYC, LA, San Diego, DC, Florida Nashville, Atlanta, Spain, Mexico, El Salvador, Chile, Hawaii, Hong Kong, and Thailand. Aosa held its own.
This led me to plan something more personal there: a 5-month celebration for my son with my wife, mother-in-law, and sister-in-law. My wife’s mother won’t be with us for his first birthday, so this moment meant a lot to us. Aosa didn’t have basque burnt cheesecake on their regular menu, but the baker was confident he could deliver something special — and he did. While they forgot to call me when the cake was ready (I had to follow up myself), the final product was quite good in taste. However, once we cut into it at home, we found the cream cheese was too wet and oozing out, even though it had been refrigerated — possibly an issue with the ratio or recipe.
We stayed for lunch that day and ordered: • Quinoa salad • Chicken katsu curry • Chicken flatbread • Lamb pepperoni flatbread (again!) • Filter coffee • Iced long black coffee
Once again — everything was delicious, fresh, and well-executed.
Now, a small but important disappointment: I ordered their signature sourdough bread — twice. Both times, it tasted like regular bread, with none of the tangy sourness that defines true sourdough. I gave them a chance to make it right, but I’ve concluded that sourdough just isn’t their strong suit.
But now for the highlight of the entire Aosa experience: Parvesh Moharwal, the brew master. This guy is an absolute gem. His passion for coffee is infectious. He took time to explain different coffee types, gave us tastings, shared coffee science, and was just an incredible ambassador of the craft. And what really blew me away — he messaged me later, completely unprompted, with detailed coffee recipes we had discussed. Just to be thoughtful. That level of service and heart is rare.

Final verdict: Aosa is a fantastic café and restaurant with truly global-quality food and coffee. The ambience is work-friendly, the staff are kind, and people like Parvesh elevate the experience. There were a few bumps — the missed call, the cheesecake texture, and the non-sour sourdough — but the highs far outweighed the lows.
I’ll definitely return — and I’d highly recommend it to remote workers, foodies, and coffee...

The atmosphere is exceptional — you’re instantly greeted by the comforting aroma of freshly ground coffee, which they prepare in-house. I was in a bit of a rush and couldn’t sit down to enjoy my meal, so I had to get everything packed. Despite being a slightly fussy customer, the staff was incredibly accommodating and attentive.
The manager welcomed me warmly. Noticing I had a hard time navigating the menu, he personally stepped in to walk me through it, which I really appreciated.
I ended up ordering an almond croissant with masala tea and a red sauce pasta. The croissant was freshly baked, unbelievably soft on inside and crispy on outside — honestly better than many I’ve had at high-end resorts such as TAJ.
As for the pasta, it was fettuccine cooked in pure olive oil — you could literally smell the richness of olive oil. It was slightly tangy for my taste but still flavorful and satisfying. The managers are also open to any kind of feedback, and they would ask if you enjoyed the food.
The ambience matches that of a top-notch café in Mumbai, calm, stylish, and inviting. The freshness and purity of ingredients combined with the inviting ambience and warmly staff, makes this place...
