Been here for dinner on my recent trip to Chennai. The location is quite tricky to access since it is located under the flyover and at the corner of the intersection. You need to circle around significantly to reach this place which feels frustrating especially during peak traffic hours. But once you arrive, you'll definitely enjoy their atmosphere & service forgetting the effort it took to reach here.
They have both indoor and outdoor seating. If you are a couple or family, I strongly recommend choosing outdoor seating as the indoor area will be usually occupied by boys or stag group and their behaviour to the loud music will definitely annoy you. Outdoor seating is very calm comparatively, though it was raining we enjoyed the weather. They have a projector outside to stream major sports events and the ambience outside is very upscale.
The menu felt very simple and clear. We preferred 2 cocktails & 1 mocktail. Cocktails were just above average and the mocktail was good. Food was really good, we preferred crispy corn, paneer chinthamani & a pizza. All three dishes turned out to be great. Food was a definite winner compared to drinks.
Service is really hearty. The amount of effort they put in to reach our table with food and drinks in heavy rain was applause worthy. Loved their humble attitude and hospitality.
They have a valet parking facility and the parking area is good. The washrooms hygiene was well maintained. The cleanliness of the overall dining area was satisfactory. They do accept all kinds of digital payments including cards.
The only flaw in the whole experience was my girl felt a little bit uncomfortable while walking out due some male guest attitude in the indoor seating area. They should address this issue.
Overall I would recommend this place for the relaxed atmosphere it offers to...
Read more101 is a newly opened restobar in anna nagar. Wanted to try the place out since it's right in our backyard. The beauty of accessing this restobar is that it one can enter from jawarharlal nehru rd as well as the park road. Now coming down to brass tacks. Lovely outdoor ambience and decent indoor ambience with comfortable seating. We were personally served by Mr.Senthil of 101. Since we were new to the menu we much appreciated how he patiently explained it thoroughly. Since we were wanting to order a pitcher, he even got the bartender to mix a special cocktail for us that had fresh watermelon juice and no added sugar. Our little bit to stay healthy 😂. We ordered the chicken chukka Parathacos, lakeside fish and chips (made with mahi mahi thankfully) and for dessert kadalaimittai chocolate sauce.
I will give my ratings for each dish and cocktail below: Watermelon vodka cocktail pitcher - 5 Chicken parathatacos - hands down 5 (would give it a 10 if i could. It was absolutely delicious) Lakeside fish and chips - 3.5 (was a little bland and after a killer starter like the chicken parathatacos could have definitely scope for making it more finger licking good.) Kadalai mithai chocolate samosa: 5 . Enjoyed the subtle taste of peanut candy vying for the overpoweringly delicious and oozy chocolate filling. Light, crunchy and perfectly fried samosa with a sweet twist.
Now why do i give a rating of 5. Well credit to Mr. Senthil who asked us our feedback on each and every dish. We enjoyed the food, ambience and also the music. A definite must visit for ladies, kitties, date nights and just chilling...
Read moreI tried this place recently for a get together with friends for dinner. They have both indoor and outdoor ambience. We chose indoors since we wanted to enjoy the vibe inside. It was a very cool ambience with edm being played. Food: I was surprised to see multiple dishes with local origin. I haven't seen such a menu in a resto bar above all, the budget friendly price that they have. It was very very less compared to any other restaurants in Anna nagar surroundings. We tried some of their best sellers like chicken chips which were very crispy and thin Also they were very spicy. Then we tried chicken sukka parothacos which was similar to a taco but it kind of had its own flavour. The ocean basket was filled with squid which was fried in a very good batter. Fried rice and penne chicken Arabiata were decent to taste. Mocktails: They didn't have a separate menu for mocktails. Instead they had options for us. Whatever flavours we chose the bartender made a mocktail out of it. I really liked the lychee mocktail which we tried. I repeated it 3 times it was in such good taste. Overall I would recommend you to try this place for a budget friendly and good restobar experience...
