Hotel Ganapathy Bhavan — Restaurant in Zone 8 Anna Nagar

The food is amazing, but the service and supervisor's behaviour are appalling.

I'm writing this after three years of dealing with this problem. even till this day This feedback was shared with all of my friends.

1st scenario: "I arrived at the hotel at 920 a.m. and requested a MINI TIFIN order; however, they denied it, indicating that the MINI TIFIN order was closed and that no orders would be received for it; nonetheless, it was provided to another known person by the waiter who arrived at 9:40 a.m. (the waiter called him Mama; seems like a waiter relative). As a result, customers are unconcerned." in this location. I spoke about this with the same waiter, but he did not respond appropriately.

2nd scenario: I placed an order for a MINI Tiffin, but I was charged Rs. 120 instead.I made the mistake of not checking the bill because I was on the phone and just realized it after a two days. As a result, we must be extremely cautious and double-check the bill before paying our payment at this hotel.

3rd scenario: I ordered a full meal today seating in A\C restaurant and asked cold water, but it was denied, explaining that we only provide ordinary water and that I would have to pay for it if I requested cold water. However, it was then served to another diner by a different waiter.I'm not sure why customers are treated this way when everyone is paying for...

Today 15th Nov around 1.20 pm I had the worst North India lunch meal for a whopping Rs180. The items in the meal were: cold veg biryani , cold Jeera rice , cold curd rice one cup each, one roti with cold Dal fry and cold paneer butter masala plus a paneer fry as side dish for curd rice( no one in the earth will have paneer fry for curd rice)

All the items were served cold and black FUNGUS in onion salad given along with the meal. No sweet was served until I asked, later cold sweet kesari was served not sure why and fruit salad was served after bill payment.

This is such a sad experience, I couldn't see one responsible person in Ganapathy Bhavan to address the issue. No owner present in the premises neither the manager took responsibility.

My Review,

Very high price for the items in lunch menu. I would pay 190 in sree mithai as the price goes with the number of items served. Bad choice of food items in the Menu, two paneer items shows no variety. Food was served cold, shows the restaurant in not interested in customer service. Sweet was missing and fruit salad was given after bill payment. I did not understand why they hve to serve after payment. Shows very slow service or no service.

This Hotel Ganapathy Bhavan is situated in Villivakkam on the Madras Thiruvallur High Road near Padi flyover. Located with in the compound of Villivakkam Singaram Pillai Higher Secondary School.

Hotel Ganapathy Bhavan have branches all over Chennai and it has another branch in Anna Nagar East. This one is Villivakkam branch, when I visited this branch, inside this hotel I saw a big photo frame of Annachi founder of Saravana Bhavan. So owners of this new chain of resturants should be from the family of Saravana Bhavan Annachi.

About this resturant, here I had South Indian meals. There are two varieties of South Indian Meals are served here one in Non-AC hall which is limited meals costs Rs.120/- other one is inside AC Hall which is unlimited meals which costs Rs.190/-. Kitchen of this resturant was visible through the doors and it does not look clean.

I had Unlimited South Indian meals inside AC hall for that you get Chapathy, Kuruma, Sambar, Rasam, Kara Kuzhambu, Kuttu, Poriyal, Keerai Kutu, Two deserts [payasam], Ghee, Dal powder, Moore, Pickle, Chutney and Ice Cream. Taste of the food is good, ambience of the hotel is average.

This hotel has limited parking space it can accomadate few Bikes and one Car max. Over all experience is good, atleast for once we can definetly try...
