The Best Veg Hotel in Pudukkottai!
If you're in Pudukkottai and looking for the perfect spot to enjoy delicious vegetarian food, this hotel is a must-visit! It's hands down the best place for breakfast and lunch in town. But if you're dropping by for dinner — don’t miss the appam!
Here’s a little story from our visit: We weren’t planning to order appam at all. We had already ordered veg noodles and two plates of idlis, just enough to wrap up the day. While we were eating, someone at the next table ordered appam. We were seated inside the AC dining area, right opposite the kitchen door — prime viewing spot!
As the server brought the appam out — fresh, hot, and steaming — it felt like a moment from a movie, literally in slow motion... சுடச்சுட ஆவி பறக்க — the aroma and the look of that appam just hypnotized us. We instantly changed our minds and ordered one. Then another. And finally, a third one! That appam turned a regular dinner into a truly happy and memorable experience.
Trust me, go for the appam. Sit opposite to the kitchen door in the AC section. Watch the magic unfold. And...

During season time, after 2pm we are served with only half boiled rice empty sambar, rasam or buttermilk (NO side dishes, no appalam, no payasam, podi ,ghee ,nothing). For that too they charge full meals amount. Four times visited here for dinner. I was served with spoiled chutney varieties. With no option, during my delivery time at team hospital, 6 days I had brkfst, lunch, dinner from this restaurant. Before tasting the chutney, the smell itself says it is spoiled. The idly was morning made. Without hesitation they served that. We, people PAYING HIGH AMOUNT FOR THE QUALITY OF FOOD not for the appearance and ambience of restaurant. They must show some honesty in quality of food they serve right to the cost they charged for every item. All time we visited, personally we gave feedback to them . But still they didn't change. That's why I wrote this...

Coming to food, we ordered South Indian Thali. The Thali had a wide spread and was good. Beetroot Curry/Poriyal, Keerai, Koottu were very good. Ghee and Paruppu Podi was good too. Vathal kuzhambu took the cherry with outstanding taste.
In comparison, both Sambar and Rasam were substandard - coming from a restaurant in South of India - and took me by surprise.
We had also ordered a Babycorn starter - crispy batter-fried babycorn and it was good.
Service was super quick - which suited us as we had to continue our drive.
Hand wash area is super crowded. Toilet leaves a lot to be fixed. Unless urgent(!!) avoid using it. Toilets in many petrol pumps on the highway...
