Buhari Hotel — Restaurant in Tamil Nadu

It is a restaurant of the famous Buhari Hotel Chain in Chennai, which has the credit of inventing Chicken 65 and famous for their morning tea with soft buns. This restaurant is on the busy East Coast Road with close proximity to multiple international eateries. We chose this restaurant so that my family could taste their historical dishes. The parking is large enough to accommodate many cars. The security were helpful in parking the vehicles. The dining area was in the ground floor and we noticed first floor dining about the time we left. We ordered the famous aatukkal soup. It was bit watery to our expectation. We also ordered chicken 65, egg biriyani and chicken biryani along with Madras Egg Parotta. The biryani was a larger portion and madras egg parotta was a kothu (minced) type that was tasty. It was shocking to see that they do not have any gravy/salna that is given with the biryani. So, we had to order pepper chicken gravy as a side dish. Chicken 65 was tasty but large chunks with bone was difficult for my children. The delivery took a long time, food service was mediocre, prices were exorbitant and did not match with the quality. Dear Friends - Please don't visit ECR Neelankarai Buhari as I had the worst experience. Outlets are cheated by the people who ever visit based on the Buhari brand. I'm not sure they are direct outlets or franchises. World class is the worst restaurant of my life to visit there.

I went to the restaurant on 13-April-2025 at 8 PM for dinner with family. Full of the tables are empty and there is no AC to work. I hate the restaurant for the following reasons.

Floor Supervisor Purusothaman and restaurant manager Jay are rude to handle the customers. They that that the service is free of cost. Around 10 times switched off and, ON the AC, and no cooling even after an hour. All the dishes are not available ever 8 PM as disaster restaurant. Each order takes almost 30-45 minutes to get to the table. To prepare the bill itself we waited 40 minutes as the restaurant was fully empty.

Hotel staff are cool if I told to raise a concern. The Buhari leadership team must focus the customer care else they may be close very soon. They are not eligible even single star.

Don't lose your money on visiting...

It was really a nice experience. Ambience was very awesome. We planned with some 10 members. Location: It's located it very easily accessible location. There is Blue lagoon resort located very near to the hotel. Resort also serve a nice food. The hostel is large enough to support a huge crowd. Ambience: As all buharis, it has a nice ambiance. We were greeted very well. The waiter who attended us so polite in taking over. We were going on changing our menu but the waiter was passion with us in changing the list. The food item arrived very earlier then what we expected. Taste: Thinking about Buhari we were expecting good taste. But the feel was not up to our expectations. Briyani species was not mixing up with the chicken and the rice. It was like normal briyani. Can give only 2 out of 5 for briyani. Other non-veg starters and things were all super. Mutton and fish items were worth of the money. Dragon chicken was delicious. And prawn items were good. Amount: All items were up to the mark. Was not satisfied with briyani alone.
