Read moreMy recent breakfast experience at Namma Veedu Vasanta Bhavan in Chennai was nothing short of a morning misery. With high hopes for a delightful start to the day, I was instead met with disappointment and frustration at every turn.
To begin with, the service during breakfast hours was shockingly disorganized and inefficient. The staff seemed overwhelmed and ill-prepared to handle the morning rush. Tables were left uncleared, resulting in a chaotic and untidy dining area. The waiters were inattentive, and it took an exorbitant amount of time just to get their attention. Their lack of promptness and disregard for customer satisfaction was evident throughout my visit.
Unfortunately, the disappointment didn't end there. The quality of the breakfast fare was underwhelming, to say the least. The idlis and dosas were dry, rubbery, and lacked the softness and flavor that one would expect from a reputed establishment. The chutneys and sambar were watery and devoid of the traditional taste and aroma. It was clear that little effort was put into maintaining the authenticity and quality of the dishes.
Furthermore, the cleanliness standards during breakfast hours were abysmal. The floors were sticky, and the dining area appeared unkempt. It was evident that proper cleaning and maintenance were neglected, adding a sense of unhygienic surroundings to an already disappointing experience.
The pricing for the breakfast offerings was completely disproportionate to the lackluster quality and service provided. With other establishments in the vicinity offering superior breakfast options at comparable or even lower prices, Namma Veedu Vasanta Bhavan fails to provide any justification for their inflated costs.
The excessive wait times for food during breakfast hours were frustratingly long. Despite the relatively moderate crowd, the kitchen seemed ill-equipped to handle the orders efficiently. The wait for even the simplest dishes was unreasonably extended, leaving customers hungry, impatient, and regretting their decision to dine at Namma Veedu Vasanta Bhavan.
Overall, my breakfast experience at Namma Veedu Vasanta Bhavan was an utter disappointment. From the disorganized service to the lackluster food quality, unclean surroundings, inflated prices, and extended wait times, every aspect of the experience left much to be desired. With numerous other breakfast options available in Chennai, I strongly advise against choosing Namma Veedu Vasanta Bhavan for your...
Read moreSuch a day light robbery restaurant . Ordered one Mysore masala dosa, stuffed paneer paratta, rasamalai and one mosambi juice.
Mysore masala dosai- Average masala dosa.
Stuffed paneer parata- Had to search for the paneer stuff inside the paratta and the raitha was just plain onion with curd findings.
Rasamalai - Ordered for mini falooda from the menu and server responded stating that falooda is nothing but one scoop of icecream which sounded super weird to me, so changed my mind to Basundhi. Then he comes back with another surprise stating that Rasamalai will be good, I was like man why dong you accept that you don’t have these items which is mentioned in the menu and why do you want to force people to have what you have at your desk. Mysore masala dosa was too spicy and I did not have an option to neutralise my taste buds and went ahead with Rasamalai. It was better in taste compared to the main course.
Next comes the biggest surprise of my life time. Wife asked for a Mosambi juice and it came to the table. It was my biggest mistake for not checking the price before placing the order.
I was shocked to see on my bill where they charged one Modambi juice for 185 rupees and I even asked the server on why are they charging 185 for one mosambi Juice and he responds stating that they don’t add water . Do you think we are fools here? Mosambi is completely a water content fruit and why do you even need to add additional water . He just stood still and said it’s management decision sir on the pricing . Mosambi is sold at 40 rupees per kg and they sell one juice at 185.
Coming to the atmosphere we had to sweat it out there and service was that poor we had to wait for the menu card for 10 minutes. Paneer paratta was served on the foil cutlery and they made us to call them twice to get a plate for us to proceed to start eating and in the meanwhile the parattas were turning cold before consumption.
And yes the total bill for these...
