⭐☆☆☆☆ (1/5) – Overpriced, Tasteless, and Disappointing
We visited Delhi Dhaba Mamallapuram and decided to pack food, expecting a decent North Indian meal. However, the experience turned out to be one of the worst we've had in terms of both quality and pricing.
Ridiculously Overpriced:
The prices are absolutely unjustifiable for the quality they serve. ₹50 for a single roti is outrageous, especially when the roti itself was so hard that breaking and eating it felt like a challenge. The curries weren’t any better—₹305 for kadhai paneer and ₹245 for dal makhani, yet both tasted horrible.
Terrible Food Quality:
Dal makhani was shockingly sweet, making it unappetizing. A good dal makhani should have a rich, creamy texture with a balance of spices, but this one tasted more like a dessert gone wrong.
Kadhai paneer was completely bland, lacking any depth of flavor. The paneer itself was rubbery, and the gravy had no richness, no spice, and no authentic taste—just a sad, unseasoned mess.
Roti was the worst part—so tough that tearing it felt like a workout. A proper tandoori roti should be soft yet crisp, but this one was a dry, chewy disaster.
Only One Redeeming Item – The Raita
The mixed raita (₹110) was surprisingly the only thing that tasted decent. It was refreshing and well-balanced, but when the side dish becomes the highlight of the meal, you know something is seriously wrong with the main course.
Final Verdict:
This place is nothing but an overpriced tourist trap with subpar food. The prices might make sense if the food was exceptional, but when you’re charging premium rates for such low-quality dishes, it’s nothing short of a rip-off. We expected an authentic North Indian dining experience but got a bland, poorly cooked, and unreasonably expensive meal instead. Definitely would...

Service :- ⭐⭐ I asked them the most spicy food which was available and they suggested Kadai chicken. And they were not coming to our table for some time, they don't know how to manage the crowd. They literally have only few people. And to get the bill I had to wait a long time as they were short staffed for a half filled restaurant.
Food :- ⭐⭐ When the Kadai chicken came, it was quite unlike what the other restaurants offer. The ingredients were different, did not have capsicum nor the other vegetables, it felt more like normal chicken gravy, and the spiciness was totally more than normal. It felt like they totally gave me the wrong dish, but had to go with the flow. The portion size was also not satisfactory for two people who could eat equally well.
Price :- ⭐⭐ The bill did come with Kadai chicken in it and the price was very high. Two Naan and Kadai chickens cost around 450.
Ambience:- ⭐⭐⭐⭐ The place looks good. It has the facilities to relax and talk with a bigger group of friends. But would prefer other restaurants if possible to get the value for your money and have a more...
