Long Review Alert! To begin with I wish there was a rating lower than 1 star because this place doesnt deserve even a single star. We had a fabulous dinner and time ( we a group of 4 adults and 2 kids) on 28th Dec'23 and basis that we decided to go again on 29th Dec'23 for dinner. Definiately the place wins your heart for the Ambience but the same Ambience also has people that dnt reflect the goodness of the place.
We were seated where our kids were having a good time I mean do you expect 4 year Olds to sit in one place . Kids are suppose to have a good time too. A staff member named Krishna approaches us saying" your kids are disturbing other guests". To which my response was plain and simple we can't stop kids from being playful. That's such a redflag . For a group of 16 ,a group of 6 didnt matter to them . If 16 people were guests then who were we? This places judges you! Another redflag . Anyways we decided to move to the outer space after placing our dinner order . We patiently waited for our order to arrive ,kids were hungry and cranky ,it is after seeing the group of 16 being served before us and other tables that arrived after us I questioned them about our order . After 1 hour 15 minutes of placing order the food was served that was almost cold .Kids slept without food . The gentleman Krishna had no remorse whatsoever ,theManager Mr Shashi looked so powerless and represented a poor frame to a Manager of Earl's Secret . Honestly we had the last meal at this place . Building a culture is important ,poor training reflects by these experiences. Just by owning property at a plush and swanky neighborhood doesnt buy you legacy. If you dnt have customer centric approach I will go to another place . You made us feel that we made a mistake by returning to your place the second...

What we ordered: Manchow Soup Tangy Crispy Pepper Potato (Veg) Punjabi Paneer Tawa Masala Murgh Tikka Masala Butter Naan, Rumali Roti & Stuffed Kulcha Apple Pie with Ice Cream
Ambience & Experience: The restaurant exudes old-world charm with elegant outdoor seating and scenic views of the valley. The ambience is peaceful and romantic, ideal for both family dinners and quiet getaways.
Food Review: • 🥣 Manchow Soup: Perfectly spiced, hearty, and flavourful a great start to the meal. • 🥔 Tangy Crispy Pepper Potato: Crisp, tangy, and seasoned just right with a hint of sesame a true crowd-pleaser. • 🧀 Punjabi Paneer Tawa Masala: Rich, creamy, and full of flavor with soft paneer pieces that melted in the mouth. • 🍗 Murgh Tikka Masala: Succulent chicken cooked in a luscious, well-balanced gravy. Could have been better. • 🫓 Breads: The naans and kulchas were soft and fresh, pairing beautifully with the gravies. • 🍎 Apple Pie with Ice Cream: The perfect ending, warm, comforting, and absolutely delicious!
Service & Value: Service was courteous, and well-coordinated. The staff didn’t justify the service tax. Prices are mismatch to the taste of the food by 20-30%.
Overall: A delightful blend of Indian and fusion cuisine served in a picturesque hilltop setting. Earl’s Secret is truly one of Ooty’s hidden gems, perfect for anyone seeking good food, great ambience, and a memorable dining experience. Highly...
Read moreVisit here only for the views and ambience. Dont expect good food or even reasonable levels of service! This was our 5th visit to Earl's Secret (11-May-2023) for lunch and it will be our last! Absolutely pathetic service levels. First of all the table is not even cleaned after the guests finish their meal. We sat down at a table which was yet to be cleaned and they took the order without cleaning it! Started serving the soup also without cleaning! Only after we requested was the table mats changed. No wipe down nothing! We had to clean the table ourselves with tissues! Next came the honey glazed chicken with ginger! Rs.650+ tax for a small plate of sweet chicken which any small restaurant would do a better job of cooking! Next was the Beef fillet mignon (Rs.875+tax) which was served cold. We returned the same and the replacement was also served cold and beef was almost raw and seemed stale! Upon asking the waiter again he just throws attitude and tells another waiter to cancel the order and walks away! That was when we decided enough is enough and got up and walked out! Manager comes running apologizes profusely but still bills us for the rubbish soup and starter and included a service charge also for the great service. Then on second thought he says he shouldn't have even billed us for that also after we had paid for the same! We said its ok and decided to leave never to return to this overhyped place! After staying in Fortune Sullivan everytime we visit Ooty and experiencing that level of service these guys are a joke really! AVOID!! Horrible Place! Wish there was an option to give a negative rating cause this place doesnt even deserve a single...
