Chinese food lovers can go here!! The place is bit hard to find at first but worth it. FYI, Kowloon is an island in Hongkong! The ambiance is a killer. It definitely looks as if you're visiting a typical chinese restaurant.
The paper lanterns and the sceneries and paintings! Yes, they do give chopsticks! But it's plastic, I kinda found it hard to use the plastic ones! The Chinese chopsuey made me drool!!! And the fried chicken wontons were so crispy and yummy and it came with the amazing sauce.
The fried chicken wontons is a must try!! I had fried chicken with oyster sauce Kinda bummed. It didn't taste like oyster sauce. But I liked it because of the veggies! But this place is a must visit for any Chinese food lovers!!! I tried only three dishes yet it was so much for two!
Also, book a table in advance. It really gets crowded around 7.45pm. They let you order ahead. The wait time is a wee bit longer. So order ahead and get your gang here to...
Read moreIt's situated down a quiet alley off NSR Road. The place is pretty big, spread over two levels. I liked the wall art and the lanterns. They also have a seating area for takeaway customers. I went there on a Tuesday evening and the place started filling up after 7:30. The seating would be a bit uncomfortable on the spine if you prefer leaning back. I had the pork hot garlic and mixed yefu mein. The pork was pretty good, kind of sweet and spicy. The noodles were served with a bland gravy which I liked. If you prefer spicy stuff, definitely don't go for this. The lime soda was good. The prices are reasonable considering the quantity. There's room for improvement on the taste. Also, get the hand dryer working in the washroom or at least stock...
Read moreThe first time I visited Kowloon was in 2002, and ever since then, I've been a huge fan of their noodles. I've returned many times over the years. Today, after 8 years, I revisited the restaurant and found it unchanged—the interior hasn't been upgraded, and the taste of the food remains authentically Chinese. It's a calm, quiet, and less crowded place. We ordered chicken soup, mixed noodles, chicken fried rice, and spring chicken, all of which were good. Personally, I wouldn't recommend the spring chicken because it wasn't spicy enough for my taste, but kids would likely enjoy its mild flavor. Unfortunately, I forgot to take photos, but the attached picture was taken by my daughter...
