In case you are coming in as a tourist to Kanchipuram or as a layover passing to Chennai. GUYS, HANDS DOWN, THIS IS THE BEST "MUTTON BIRYANI' I HAVE EVER HAD IN MY LIFE.
I have been eating Biryani all through out my life for the last 27 years and I have tasted probably most of the famous restaurant's in the south. This place is the LEGEND in the mutton biryani category, the meat is cooked to the end, finding no fat, but pure meat and it is something I have not witnessed. I came here on a work, and was introduced by a colleague of mine and Initially I was skeptical in consumption of any food for that matter because the ambience is not welcoming and my colleague told me to just try. The first touch to the meat along with a handful rice, my eyes and the taste hit me to another zone. I went onn to eat 2 half portions of biryani along with 2 half plate Nally fry and 1 half brain.
The masalas were pretty simple but what was mind blowing was the breed of mutton that gives such value in the tenderness of the meat which enhances the entire eating experience.
I am from Bangalore and I am pretty sure a lot of people come to Kanchipuram for saree purchasing, Please visit this place in the afternoon for a lunch, If you miss it Practically speaking its a loss for the people who say I am a food blogger, Food lover etc.

I tried both the Chicken Biryani and Mutton Biryani. I found the Chicken Biryani to be tastier than the Mutton Biryani. The chicken was well-cooked, flavorful, and the portion size was generous, making it sufficient for two people.
As for the side dishes, we ordered Chicken Fry and Fish Fry. Both were quite good, with the Chicken Fry standing out in particular. 🦞🦐🦀🍖🍗🌸🦐☀️🔆🎉
One thing to note is that Hotel Mannar Military exclusively serves biryani; they do not offer white rice, rasam, or other typical accompaniments. This might be a strategic move to focus on their specialty, which they seem to do quite well.
Overall, it’s an okay kind of hotel. If you're in the area and craving some good biryani, especially Chicken Biryani, this place is worth a...
