Mansukh is a chain of sweets and snacks eatery that's popular with Indian in general. It's like the roadside eatery minus the risks of not knowing what you are eating. This is like the chaat shop with a good civic sense and much more and a Indian style fast food joint.
There's limited seating available and only one aircon was working along the rows of tables which we proceeded to occupy for the next 60 to 90 minutes. We were meeting each other after 39 years when we graduated from the nearby Jawahar Vidyalaya senior secondary school in 1986. Now made famous by you know who... none other than Sundar Pichai.
Anyway the waiter gave us a menu card and pretty much left us to yap our heads off, that's until the crowd started building up outside. We quickly ordered our food and they were quickly brought out and gobbled up. We also had some drinks and desserts, paid and were just in time to get ejected.
The food is good and everything is vegetarian and or vegan. The waiters are nice and easy. I believe tipping is not a tradition but I tipped anyway. No one noticed it or acknowledged it as I left it in the "folder".

The pulao was just plain rice with some jeera and pepper dust thrown in, and it was undercooked — imagine paying money to chew raw rice. The paneer tikka biryani had zero tandoor flavor, zero biryani aroma, just sad rice with lifeless paneer. The kadi was honestly a crime — drowning in turmeric, missing the usual sweet balance, and tasted like medicine. Baby corn manchurian was sour enough to make you doubt your life choices.
Even after ordering...
Read morePathetic Customer service .. used to be a good crowd puller , and when I went for Dining , only one person was there during Lunch time .. now that the service has gone down , so is the quality and taste and the staff attitude.. more number of staff and supervisors but no one takes any interest .. everyone seems to be busy - doing nothing .. no wonder the newly opened Manoj Bhavan is drawing customers ..
The following is an old post I'am a regular to this place , atleast once a fortnight .. of late the service is very poor as the staff who take orders are not conversant in Tamil , English and even Hindi .. it took almost 20 minutes to take our order and the staff who took it couldn't comprehend correctly and was rude too .. the food no doubt is tasty and good , but the management needs to keep a supervisor who speaks Tamil and ensure that the bearers are courteous and don't keep the...
