We had a lot of regrets on choosing this restaurant on our way back from Ooty.
The quantity we got was not worth the price. Can’t even accept that the Chicken Biriyani which we got was for Rs:250/- was worth the price. Both the rice and Chicken piece was of very minimal quantity. No egg along with it as well.
If the price is high, if the taste is good, we would be happy and little satisfied. But when we came out of this restaurant, we had a cheated feeling. We didn’t even like the taste and it’s not even worth it!
About the service. When we enter a hotel, the most important time is that 5-10mins where we look at the menu and select the dishes according to our budget, taste and plan. When we discuss and choose the items from the menu, we don’t expect the staff to stand beside us. They should give us sometime and allow us some privacy and once we are done, they can take the order. This is a basic etiquette hotel management people should follow and we didn’t get this there. One staff from Tenkasi who was behaving as if he is the manager (manager is some other person) was standing nearby us continuously hearing what we were discussing among us. This is not a good attitude which we didn’t like.
Also he was asking whether we need any starters and we said No. But still he was looking continuously at us and asking again whether you need Mutton Egg Items which is really good and you can try that as a starter. Again we had to say No with little pressure to the same guy from Tenkasi.
We pointed out the mistake to the hotel staffs after having food from there. They are like we are the only people who told negative about their food.
To the fellow dear people who is travelling through Tamilnadu route, please don’t select this restaurant. No taste, not worth the money as well. No professional behaviour as well. If you still want to try any good Biriyani from Dindigul, you can try from Dindigul Thalapakkatti Biriyani which we had tried on the previous day. Even though the rate was similar, it was tasty and...
Read moreMy husband is a non vegetarian and he wanted to try biryani at Ponram due to numerous reviews. I was a little hesitant at first since this place hardly had any vegetarian options. We stood outside with our 4 month old baby to go inside. The staff said there are no seats at all. When we had a look there were plenty of empty seats. We had to fight and get a decent seat. We waited for half an hour and not one staff came to take order or kept water. So many customers were simply waiting for waiters to come take order. Horrible service. When my husband asked the staff replied rudly saying they are under staffed and we can go else where if we can't wait. Multiple customers started questioning them for lack of service. Is this how you'd treat your customers??? Pathetic service and experience. Would not recommend or go this place ever again. We left the second the staff said we can go elsewhere. We spoke to the manager and all he did was stare blank and not do anything about it.
To people reading reviews, please please go to opposite side Dindigul Thalapakati biriyani and save yourself from all the trouble. Excellent service and they even provided a room when I had to feed my hungry baby.
Dear Ponram staff, learn to respect your customers first and train yourself better. You can go to the opposite hotel to learn the basic maybe.
FYI - They charge 10%extra for AC room which hardly had any AC. You charge 300 - 400 bucks for your food and AC is like a basic requirement even small shops provide. Terrible management. Shows why your staff are...
Read moreRating one cause we can't go lower. Had worst experience ever. When entered the restaurant, there was no water for hand wash. My family and other costumers have to use the drinking water kept in the table. We ordered soup, starters and Main course. Our waiter who took the order was rude and just arragontly showed the ordering tab when asked to repeat the order. It's OK and we just brushed it off since our family didn't take it seriously. But then ordered items were served cold and servers didn't provide spoon for soup we had to ask for the basic things. Main course of KARI DOSA was salty and cold, Mutton briyani was cold and served without sides and for these cold dishes we had to argue with waiter and wait half an hour. Others customers of three, who literally washed hands with us ate and paid bill while we were still waiting for our last Main course- Egg uthappam which you guessed it correctly was served COLD!!! And the waiter was so arragont and rude to us. PONRAM serves rich people elegantly with their low quality and low class food. But serves other people with same food with scum like service. Our family of four were treated poorly and we had our daughter of one year old with us which they didn't even consider and...
