Fine dining, but not fine taste. Thalis both north indian and seasonal thali are heavy. The portion sizes are not big, but most of the dishes are heavy and appears to be cream based leading to satiation.A properly curated meal must have a right mix of the macros (protein, carbs and fat). But this meal seems to be dominated by fat. Use of oil, cream and butter and other fats are generous and dominant, leading to disappointment.
Apart from food, the service was good. Staffs are very helpful and they listen to you. Most of them are even better dressed than me Refils are not quick and will take some time. Kids upto to the age 5 eat for free and kids from 6 have to pay 50% I guess. My kid was not charged. Thalis are served on silver plates and cups. But my daughter was served in a porcelean/china plate (if I am not wrong), ITC which has put in a lot of thought into the ambience and experience, should have thought of this scenario also and should have catered to this situation also - like a small silver plate for kids upto to the age of 5. I felt little awkward that my wife and I were served in silver plates and my daughter was eating from a non-silver plate.
Bottom line : People living on Instagram will love this place. The wealthy will also most likely love this place. Foreigners would also. But, a proper foddie who prirotises the taste, might not loose all his excitement after...
Read moreWe booked the private dining room for my kid’s birthday. We made the advance payment so they were aware that a party of 13 people was arriving that day. We had also announced our selection of cuisine well in advance. But once we arrived we were left disappointed. The host area was empty and we were not even received or greeted properly. The lady just ushered us all into the PDR and we were just left standing there. There was no description or explanation of the dishes…they were just served to us stating the name of the dish. Even basic asks like getting an extra spoon or getting a plate for one of the kids took up a really long time. They removed the dish of one of guests without asking us if they were done or not.
The dishes were okay with only a few of them standing out. Also we had informed way in advance that there would be two kids under the age of 2 and we would need high chairs. But they were not even able to provide that. They just stated that only one high chair was available and that too they scrambled to acquire.
The whole experience was very poor and I would not recommend hosting any of your major events there. We honestly expected much more from the hospitality and food for such a hefty price tag. There is nothing ‘royal’ there except maybe the silverware they serve your food in.
The only pro was maybe the cake they...
