In late 1980's, HSB had opened it's first outlet and expanded rapidly from there on. It was known for it's high quality vegetarian food, specialising in south indian dishes. There was (and still is) hell lot of plagiarism of this name across the south indian states as people swore by the name.
Over the last few years, i completely stopped visiting the HSB chain of hotels due to detiorating quality.
I thought let me try HSB once more today. Ordered a plain dosa. Although dosa was good, the coconut white chutney was missing. I asked for it and the waiter said "WHITE CHUTNEY IS NOT AVAILABLE"!! This is the first time i am coming across a south indian resto where white chutney wasn't served!
For those who do not know the significance of white chutney, let me tell u - Dosa was the main food, white chutney is the emotion!! 😒
And alas, Rs 75 for a dosa and see the way they keep the soap for handwash!...

They had listed potato poriyal and other varieties, but no poriyal was provided at all. The packaging was also of very poor quality.
I had placed the order based on the ratings, but I now believe those ratings are all fake. This was a complete waste of my time and money. Every penny is hard-earned, and I placed the order while I was very hungry—yet the food quality and service were unacceptable. Please take this feedback seriously and ensure such experiences do not happen to...
Read moreTHis is a nice place to go and get your breakfast/lunch/dinner real quick. Just on the side of the road, this place has 3 floors. ground floor is self service and you get things real quick. Good if you just go out for a cup of coffee or a snack. Use the first floor on a week day for a family get out. But beware that during lunch times it is hotter. That's why you have a AC in the second floor. It's chill and the dining is more private.
The dishes carry the usual taste of saravana bhavan, which lately is not very attarctive compared to other emerging restaurants in the city. But their coffee is still the best.
The parking space here is bit cramped and there is no wallet parking...
