Attentive service, close enough to railway station, has lift,.AC dining etc. however prices seemed slightly on higher side. We were suggested a meal called Divya bhojanam and while it was comprehensive with unlimited rice, it was clearly an "upsell", esp for a party that had two people over 70 and one 45 yr old. But if you're a younger person with a big appetite then you can enjoy this. It is somewhat pricey though so check price before. Think it cost us 350/person in March 2024. Divya bhojan has a starter juice, an elanir halva and a pepper soup all served right at the start. Then the elaborate plate arrived and it is a leaf shaped plate with a cut banana leaf inside and about 12-15 cups are inside with many items like sambar, paruppu podi, ghee, milagu kuzhambu, two poriyas, koottu, fried sweet corn, mushroom curry, dal, naan piece, masala 'mor' (buttermilk), payasam, curd in a small cute earthen jug, veg biryani, and maybe 1-2 other items. Papad etc. i recommended getting a small side plate to keep the papad dry and crunchy during the meal. Ask for extra papad if you need later. Usually for 1 extra papad there should be no charge. The food was tasty overall but we couldn't truly enjoy it and I Didn't try certain things fully. So just be aware of this if are offered the "Divya bhojan" meals options. The normal meals itself is quite good and sufficient. Attentive service so it is a nice place. While leaving we add a small tip to the bill and also a tiny cash tip (20rs) to the cleaning person who does our table.

Where should I Start? DON'T DINE IN, BETTER DO TAKE AWAY! Food - It's pretty good, no doubt, however it wasn't something exquist as proclaimed on other comments. Service - This was the worst service and experience! They are charging premium, and ofcourse put up a poster saying Airconditioned restaurant. But they kept the AC at 25C! Bloody hot, and only after seeing us and complaining they lowered the AC to 19C. They have a huge room with like 15 to 20 tables, but when a family of 6 sat down they brought 2 menu cards, where there was only a few people in the restaurant. Why are you stingy with the menu card? Really bad start! BEWARE, The waiter quickly comes in to coherse you into getting soup as starter, don't get it, it's a waste and not worth it! Atmosphere - This is the worst atmosphere I have ever had dinner at. As soon as you walk in you think, wow the restaurant is full, but then instantly they realized that there are 20 staff standing around! Look at the pic I shared! 😅 They are constantly staring at you eating, and this is so freaking uncomfortable! They are just standing around and ready to take your plate, the moment you out your phone spine down, like ffs, I am not done eating! They are eager to get your money ASAP, like why run a restaurant? Certainly won't go here again, probably do take out from here, but not eat here in the restaurant.

Rating: 5 Stars for Food | 3 Stars for Service I recently dined at Sree Ariya Hotel, Thanjavur, and I must say — the food was absolutely fantastic! Every dish we ordered was flavorful and satisfying. The Paneer Butter Masala and Kadai Mushroom Masala were rich, well-spiced, and perfectly cooked. The Jeera Rice paired beautifully with the gravies, and the Garlic Naan was fresh, buttery, and just the right amount of crispy. The Strawberry Milkshake and Strawberry Ice Cream were delightful treats to end the meal, and the Curd was fresh and cooling. Even the Butter Roti was soft and served warm. Overall, the quality and taste of the food deserve a solid 5-star rating. However, I would give the service a 3-star rating. While the staff was polite, the timing of the food delivery needs improvement. Starters and main course were served together, which disrupted the dining flow. Also, ice cream was served in two rounds with a noticeable delay between them. This took away from an otherwise excellent dining experience. If they improve their service coordination, Sree Ariya has the potential to be one of the best spots in Thanjavur. Looking forward to visiting again!

Limited Condiments and Inattentive Staff Firstly, the restaurant was stingy with condiments like podi and ghee. It was surprising to see a South Indian restaurant be hesitant to provide additional servings of these staples, especially considering the minimal cost of the containers compared to the overall meal price. This frugality felt unnecessary and inhospitable. Secondly, the staff seemed to prioritize serving customers who appeared more affluent. They were largely unresponsive to my requests and attentive to others who seemed to project a certain image. This kind of selective service is unacceptable and creates an unwelcome atmosphere. Undercooked Rice Finally, the rice served with my meal was undercooked. This is a basic expectation at any restaurant, especially one that charges premium prices. Uncooked rice is simply inedible and reflects poorly on the kitchen's standards. Overall, my experience was underwhelming. The inattentive staff, limited condiments, and undercooked rice overshadowed any positive aspects of the meal. I would strongly advise the restaurant to address these issues to improve customer satisfaction.

I truly loved this place and just had to share my experience with you! So, we were a group of three and landed there around 12 noon — right in the middle of that scorching heat. We were totally drained and just wanted to sit down and eat. As soon as we walked in, we ordered their special meals. They first served us a pepper coriander soup, and wow — it was so refreshing! It instantly brought us back to life. And now coming to the meals... honestly, it was one of the best I’ve ever had! Every single dish was unique and super tasty. What really stood out was the curd they served in an earthen pot — such a lovely touch. And guess what? It’s all unlimited! You can ask for more of anything, and they’ll happily serve it with a smile. I would like to give a special mention to their rasam...it is the best rasam I ever had in my life. I was so impressed with the food and the service that I even went back there for dinner! If you're ever around Tanjavur, you have to try this restaurant — especially their special meals. I’d easily give them a 10/10 for both food and service.

Sree Arya Bhavan in Thanjavur is an excellent spot for a traditional South Indian breakfast. I tried the ghee mysore masala dosa, which was crispy, perfectly cooked, and generously filled with delicious masala. The filter coffee was strong and aromatic — just the way it should be. The menu offers a wide variety of breakfast options like idli, vada, pongal, and more, all at reasonable prices. The service was fast, polite, and efficient, even though the place was quite busy during breakfast hours. The restaurant is clean and well-maintained, with a comfortable seating area. One of the biggest advantages is its convenient location — just a short walk from the Thanjavur railway station, making it an ideal stop for travelers. If you're in Thanjavur and craving authentic South Indian flavors, don’t miss this place! Highly recommended for both tourists and locals.
