😋A Delightful Vegetarian Feast
I recently had the pleasure of dining at a restaurant that left a lasting impression on me. From the moment I stepped inside, I could sense a warm and inviting atmosphere. The restaurant's commitment to serving purely vegetarian cuisine was apparent, and it instantly appealed to my taste buds.
For starters, I ordered the Paneer Tikka Masala, and it was an absolute delight. The succulent cubes of paneer were perfectly marinated and charred to perfection. The flavors of the masala were rich, creamy, and wonderfully balanced. It had just the right amount of spice to tantalize my palate without overwhelming it. Each bite was a burst of flavors that left me craving for more.
As a side dish, I opted for the Mix Veg, and it exceeded my expectations. The medley of fresh vegetables, cooked to perfection, was a colorful treat for the eyes. The vegetables retained their natural textures and flavors, offering a delightful combination of tastes and aromas. The dish was vibrant, flavorful, and perfectly complemented the Paneer Tikka Masala.
The bread selection at this restaurant was exceptional. I tried both the Butter Naan and the Lacha Parantha. The Butter Naan was soft, fluffy, and slathered with just the right amount of butter. It was the perfect accompaniment to the flavorful curries. The Lacha Parantha, on the other hand, was flaky, layered, and had a delightful crispiness. Its texture and taste added a unique dimension to the meal.
In terms of service, the staff at the restaurant were attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable about the menu. They provided excellent recommendations and ensured that my dining experience was pleasant and enjoyable. The ambiance of the restaurant was cozy and welcoming, making it an ideal place for a relaxed meal with friends or family.
Overall, my experience at this vegetarian restaurant was exceptional. The Paneer Tikka Masala, Mix Veg, Butter Naan, and Lacha Parantha were all prepared with great care and attention to detail. The food was not only delicious but also showcased the flavors of authentic Indian cuisine. If you are a vegetarian or simply appreciate vegetarian food, I highly recommend this restaurant. It is a haven for those seeking a scrumptious and satisfying meal in a warm and inviting...
Read moreGupta Bhavan is our go-to spot whenever we’re in Chennai. The chaat and North Indian dishes are truly unbeatable. Over the years, we’ve tried their chole bhature, pav bhaji, vada pav, and nearly every chaat item on the menu — each one has been consistently excellent.
On my most recent visit, I tried their fried rice, which turned out to be surprisingly good. The overall food quality remains top-notch, and the service is quick in terms of kitchen turnaround.
However, service consistency is an area they really need to improve. On at least three occasions, I’ve encountered waitstaff who were inflexible or inattentive. For example, I had to repeat my order four times to a waiter who seemed more focused on his own rhythm than the customer. During that visit, we received our Raj Kachori in 5 minutes, soup in 15, and drinks only after 25 minutes — in a rather odd and inconvenient sequence. The waiter was nowhere to be found, and thankfully, another staff member stepped in to help.
This doesn’t feel like a one-off issue, as we’ve noticed similar service lapses on multiple visits. The place has good intentions and high standards when it comes to food, but it urgently needs more consistent staff training to match the overall quality.
That said, Gupta Bhavan remains a fantastic place for delicious, reliable food. We’ll definitely keep coming back — and hope to see the service experience evolve to...

I went to this shop after a meal because I always like to end with something sweet. I ordered more than their so-called minimum quantity (100g per sweet, which is already 7 pieces — impossible for one person). So I decided to take it for my family too and asked for a small adjustment: either pack the 4-5 varieties I was ordering into 3 separate boxes, or at least give me 2 extra boxes so I could separate them myself.
Sounds simple, right? I’m paying for everything anyway. But the manager — with a mouth full of pan masala — bluntly refused and said “You can talk whatever but this is it.” His excuse? “Billing will be tough.” Really? If I’m ordering 500g+ across multiple varieties (over ₹1000 worth), what’s so tough about packing it properly?
What was worse than the refusal was the attitude. The way he responded made it sound like I couldn’t even afford their sweets. That hit my ego, and honestly, no customer deserves to be treated that way.
I wasn’t asking for freebies. I was paying, asking politely, and expecting basic customer service. Instead, I got arrogance, zero flexibility, and a manager who clearly values his pan masala more than his customers.
If this is how you treat people willing to spend money at your shop, I can only imagine how you treat others. Absolutely...
