One of the most authentic joints for good, delicious and cheesy pizza in Mumbai is 1441 Pizzeria. No doubt, this one has always been our favourite wood-oven pizza where we get to make the pizza from scratch. Think more like a DIY pizza!

At 1441, you can not only choose your toppings but participate in the whole baking process - from the dramatic air-flipping of the dough to sliding it into the oven.

Here's our first hand experience of making our very own pizza. We chose to make the gourmet pizza, tied up our aprons tight and our hair net tighter, and got this pizza party started. Hand-stretched pizza dough, placed strategically on a long-handled wooden paddle was our canvas, on to which we splashed just about everything we saw.

Step 1: Spread the sauce. We could choose from tomato sauce, mama’s sauce (a more spicy Italian one), or a white sauce. We went for the spicy one coz our mama’s always right.

Step 2: Then came the cheese. We sprinkled shredded mozzarella, smoked mozzarella, fresh buffalo mozzarella and parmesan until the chef gently suggested that the dough might collapse if it got too heavy.

Step 3: This was the toppings section, and choices were pretty much unlimited. We threw on olives, all colours of capsicum, mushrooms, sweet corn, baby corn, green chillies, cherry tomatoes, onions, caramelised onions, piri piri paneer tikka, and spiced potatoes on it. We made the other half non-vegetarian and added to all the existing cheese and veggies, a bunch of non-veg toppings such as chicken tikka, salami, chicken meatballs, and curried chicken.

Step 4: And the fruit of our labour is ready, and it's so good. The pizza was gorgeous, and so was the place. We wolfed down every bite of that pizza, while a colleague had the non-veg half. Both of us ignored each other and finished the food in ten minutes’ flat.The entire pizzeria was flooded in warm, yellow light and had scenes from an Italian countryside on the walls. We sat atop one of the high red stools there.

The gourmet pizza we made was for INR 695 (inclusive of all taxes and all toppings you add) and you can even go for a classic pizza with unlimited toppings (INR 595). The difference is the number of cheeses, and a few toppings options will be reduced.

Call yourself a pizza-lover and haven’t been to the 1441 pizzeria yet? Pfft. This is the place to go if you are obsessed with the slice of heaven slapped...

This place was on my mind since couple of months and i could finally manage to make a quick visit to this for dinner on a weekend. I was very excited to visit this place since i am a pizza lover and people were going all gaga over this place.

Place & Service: This place is situated on the main road and cannot be missed. The interior is decent with couple of seatings however, it has pretty loud colours which may or may not treat your eyes well. I found the staff to be very unprofessional. The chef suggested us one veg pizza which later on he realised that the reqired toppings is out of stock. The second pizza was combination of half veg and half non veg. He was behaving bit difficult to take our suggestions and hence after getting very irritated i told him to make it as per his own wish. Guess what, the veg portion has chicken too and when questioned he told us, "woh hojata hai", "mere dhyaan nahi gaya". This is definitely not what i want to hear from someone.

Food & Drinks:

Krish's Pizza: Though i had ordered this pizza it was then customised as per the chef's capabilities and to be very honest, it was not really great as per the hype. The base is really thin but overall the pizza wasn't cheesy and tasted pretty ok.

Customised Pizza: This was better than the previous one but the chef was bit careless to top chicken over the veg side too.

Smokey Cheese Dough Balls: Regular dough balls with olive oil over it but the cheese was missing.

Nutella Pizza: Great stuff if you love sugar overload. Loved it.

Lemon Ice Tea: The ice tea was damn good however, some ice would have made it better.

Illy Latte: Coffee was decent too.

If you have zomato gold then this place can be worth the penny spent but overall i was very disappointed with the Food, Service and the staff in particular.

My first choice in pizza is I love to eat thin crust pizza rather than the Puffy based. 1441 Pizza is perfect place to satisfy your all pizza needs. You have option to customize the pizza as par your choice. Start from choose the base, cheese type, toppings & sauce and then will make same what you expect. They use the food fire technique to baked there pizzas. You will love the delicious taste of thin crust pizzas. Apart from pizza there are also verities of appetizer to start with which include the dough bolls, garlic bread, tiramisu, potato wedges , fries. I ordered the following dishes here: • BBQ Chicken Pizza 🍕 Thin Curst pizza based include the lots cheese and BBQ chicken sauce. You will get lots of chunky chicken bites. It's little bit spicy and taste delicious. I specially like the crispness of pizza. • Smoky Cheese Dough Bolls 🔥 Yummy dough bolls served hot with Schezwan sauce and mayonnaise. • Cheese Burst Calzone 🔥 Another delicious appetizer introduced by 1441 pizzerial. It's a garlic bread stuffed with cheese and Mexican food. this is highly recommended. You will love it. • Tiramisu 🔥 This one is my favorite dessert here. Trust me every bite of this dessert makes you fall in love with it. • Nutella Dough Bolls Presentation of this dish is very good. It's a dough Bolls include the chocolate and Nutella chocolate. It's best for sweet lovers. All the dishes we order are delicious and value foroney prices of pizzas is reasonable you will get the tasty food & prompt service in this price. If you are bored with other pizzas just try the Thin Curst pizza in 1441 pizzeria & you will became fan of it. I found the professional & quick sevrice.
