From “just another coffee shop” to a place I’ll keep coming back to
I’ve been on a quiet little mission this past year, finding my perfect coffee shop for work meetings. For the longest time, I was a CCD regular, but if I’m honest, the experience there never clicked with me. Then came Starbucks, and I instantly felt at home from their menu to the way they run things, it’s been my go-to.
But today, something unexpected happened. I was in Thane, just walking past, when I saw this Blue Tokai outlet. I’ve never been to any Blue Tokai before, but there was something about this place maybe the warm lighting, maybe the way the inside felt calm yet alive that made me walk in.
I wasn’t here to experiment much, just for my meeting. But the menu caught my eye. I ordered a coffee (the exact name escapes me) and a Millet Tabouleh (Regular).
Now, let me confess I’m not the “healthy bowl” type. If my mom had offered me this same mix of veggies and grains as a kid, I would’ve run away. But here? It was different. The colours on the plate, the freshness, the way each bite felt… they had taken something my younger self would have refused and turned it into something my adult self actually loved. By the end, my body felt light, my mind satisfied, and my taste buds genuinely happy.
And then, there’s the staff. I wish I remembered their names because they truly deserve a mention. They were warm, friendly, and quietly attentive the kind of service where you know you’re being taken care of without being interrupted. I even had my giant 2-litre water bottle with me (yes, I’m that person who carries hydration everywhere) and when I asked for a refill, they filled it without hesitation. Small gesture, big impression.
This isn’t just about the food or the coffee. It’s about how this place made me feel. I didn’t feel rushed. I didn’t feel watched. I felt like I could take my time, sip slowly, have my meeting, and just be.
Thane needs more spaces like this where good coffee meets good people, and where you can enjoy your own little world without anyone disturbing it.
Thank you, Blue Tokai Thane team, for creating a space that feels less like a café and more like a little pocket of calm in the middle of a busy city. I’ll be back not just for the coffee,...

I started with the Vietnamese style cold coffee which was outstanding, and I have fallen in love with this one. Also tried the coffee milk shake which was good.
I tried the almond croissant which was buttery and delicious. Perfectly paired up with the cold coffee.
Smoked chicken and broccoli salad is one of the best dishes ever. A blend of tasty and healthy.

Read moreI was at the Blue Tokai Manpada, Thane store today and had a disappointing experience. While I was halfway through my meal, I got up briefly to place a takeaway order. During that short time, the staff cleared my table, including my half-eaten toast, coffee, and a cake slice.
I understand it may have looked like I was done, but when I informed two team members that my food was taken away by mistake, there was no acknowledgment, apology, or attempt to make it right. That lack of basic courtesy was...
