BOX8- Desi Meals | Order Food Online — Restaurant in Thane

BOX 8:- Well, after the match getting washed off yesterday, All the energies that had huddled up, were now lingering around low and sad(why bcci, why???) :(.

So to cheer us and to lighten up our moods we thought of giving this big responsibility to BOX 8 to rejuvenate US and satisfy our taste buds. To my surprise they did their job really well, so the stuffs we ordered ranged from wraps to sandwiches to biryani.

The orders that I tried were as follows:-

🌯Kathi Style Paneer Wrap: The wrap was really nice, neatly wrapped up with some well marinated paneer and veggies. It was nice and juicy with the chutney put within which balanced the whole wheat paratha really well, On many occasions when you use whole wheat paratha they tend to become very dry if they don't have accompaniments like a chutney or gravy or even a drink or cooler as a matter of fact.

So they have done a good job in bringing together all the items in this dish and balancing it well. You should try this.

🍞Paneer Overload Sandwich: This was the first item I had put my hands on, and I must say was a tad disappointed because it was not really close to the name suggested, Being a 'Paneer Overload" it hardly had 2 small pieces of paneer. It was more of a veggie delight due to the volume of other veggies stuffed in, than paneer(babycorn n mushroom to be precise). Seems like the chef got confused with the order or the paneer just went out of stock.

Talking about the taste, the sandwich was really tasty, the bread was really fresh, soft and i did love the addition of babycorn and mushroom(I know many might not like it....but it did go well), it did compensate for the absence of paneer, but not completely.

It's a really nice sandwich just tell him to make sure he delivers "paneer overload" only. You can surely give it a benefit of doubt coz I also will.

Okay just a note, try to finish this up first and fresh, coz as you know the bread is fresh it will absorb all the sauces and liquids of the veggies, and become very soft and soggy. So it will become a lil. Difficult for you to eat later or you might not even like it.

🥗Shahi Paneer Biryani: Alright, talking about biryani, well it is a really good biryani to have on the go. I wouldn't say it's the best biryani I have ever had, But it's pretty doable, with spices and white rice well balanced. I loved raita and the long rice lentils used for making the biryani. Rest was pretty neat.

I would like to rate the food 3.5. I have given 0.5 more for the efforts put in by them in packaging, quality of spoons and speedy service.

*Make sure you eat the dishes when their brought to you hot, or else you won't be able to enjoy the delight that they wish to serve you.

Kudos Box 8!! Keep up...

Getting outdoors is not a convenient option always. This weekend we had a similar situation and thus decided to order from Box8. Operating their app is quite simple and you shall also know when they'll arrive with your order at the doorstep.

We tried out a couple of items.

MAINS

Shahi Paneer : Shahi paneer was a flavourful curry with a lot of planner pieces,it was lipsmaking.

We had this along with the mildly chewy paratha.

Chicken overload meal : The name speaks for itself. It consists of Salad, Rice, Chicken Curry, Chicken Seek Kebab, Daal Makhni , 2Parathas  and Gulab Jamun. It's no doubt, stomach filling and tastes good. The highlights were the Chicken Seek Kebab and the Chicken Curry.

Chicken Xtreme : If you're looking out for trying something different in the rice section, you must try this out. The flavours are quite similar to that of tandoori, mildly spicy. The chicken was cooked to perfection.

Chicken Tikka Biryani : Chicken tikka gravy infused with rice was a hit. The spices optimise the flavour and bring in the essence of biryani. The Chicken pieces were perfectly cooked.

💥DRINKS

Ice tea Lemon/Mint flavoured ice tea. It was refreshing and had the right concentration.

Masala Lemonade: The Masala Lemonade tastes like Jaljira. This drink helps in curbing the burps/gases you usually get after eating.

💥DESSERTS

Gulab Jamun The Gulab Jamun was a delicious assortment. It wasn't extremely sweet(which we liked) and quite soft.

Moong Dal Halwa The Halwa was fresh and hits the sweet spots.

Choco Lava Cake A sinful dessert. A must have for the chocolate lovers. It melts in the mouth right away.

We are highly impressed by the quality of the food served. It's definitely worth the price and very convenient. They have many combo offers that helps to reduce the burden on your pockets. Also, the delivery was made within the time specified and the food is hot enough.

Box8 is a chain of restaurants started by two IIT alumnus in 2012 specializing in Indian meals. It is basically an on-demand food delivery company which has 30 outlets around Mumbai itself. They promise to deliver the ordered food within 38 minutes of standard delivery time and they also serve late night until 1 am. Their menu includes- All in one meal, Fusion box, Biryani, Paratha wraps, Sandwiches, Desserts, Ice Cream, and Drinks. They provide home delivery or one can take the respective parcel from their nearest outlet.

This fusion box includes the combination of Rice and Paneer Makhni cooked in spices.They serve it with the right amount of spices in it. Perfectly cooked long rice, with a very good quality of spicy paneer. They also serve three kinds of chutneys one with the yogurt mix, another chutney is spicy, red one made from red chilies, and another one the green chutney made from fresh coriander and green chilies. They also serve a side salad including red tomato, capsicum, onion, cabbage, fresh corns mixed with some spice mix and coriander.

Recommendations- Paneer makhni meal, Paneer masala fusion box, Paneer makhni fusion box, Mayo Tikki wrap, Shahi paneer biryani, Grilled patty sandwich, Paneer tikka sandwich, Chocolate brownie, Masala lemonade.
