Malvan Tadka — Restaurant in Thane

A little overdue appreciation for one of my go to places in Thane. Samudra and Malvan Tadka are owned by the same management. This is without a speck of doubt, an underrated hidden gem located in the heart of the city. The place has three types of seating area options and you can take a pick: i) Ground floor having housing a bar (Good pick if you want to have a couple of drinks before you bounce off) ii) Mezzanine/First floor: Family AC section iii) Roof top (The best part of the restaurant and my personal pick of the lot): This is an outstanding pick for drinks and food either ways because it has a good seating areas even though the views are not unobstructed. Service is top notch at the roof top. Striving towards excellence.

F&B:

1. Fresh lime (🌟🌟🌟🌟):

Absolutely refreshing with perfect balance of lime and sweetness. Nothing can go wrong with this. A perfectly safe choice if you’re in the mood to have a cooler.

2. Paneer Thai Papdi (🌟🌟🌟🌟):

This is their latest introduction in the menu and it is just as good as what the executive told us. It has a heavy coating outside and filled with a tasty paneer filling. Also it is complimented by their in house special red gravy which makes it a perfect side with alcohol.

3. Chicken Banjara (My family’s favourite) (🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟):

Absolutely lip smacking & delectable chicken marinated in their secret spices and charred in tandoor to perfection. The smokey flavour just oozes from it. This is their chart buster and my brother especially travels from abroad to have a run at this.

4. Chicken Rojali Kebab (🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟):

Crafty is an understatement when it comes to calling out this dish. This has a succulent minced chicken filling which is a game changer. Balance of spices, texture and its riveting flavour makes this dish a superstar amongst the lot.

Wanted to visit this place since its opened up in Thane East, and i finally planned and went here at Malvan Tadka for absolute delicious lunch. Amazing varieties of authentic malvani sea food and with that typical malvani techa taste in the food. Ive had some nice experience over here right from the food, the service and everything that came on my way. The ambience is nice and cozy with some fish cutout tangged up on the wall. Superb and comfortable seating arrangements. The service was as good and quick as the food was. I had started with some mocktails to begin with

Mocktails: 1) Orea Shake: Which was nicely blended with oreo biscuit and thick milk and oreo chocolate 2) Coconut Blossom: Nice blend of Pineapple and Coconut with a mixture of Vanilla icecream Starters: Surmai Tava Fry: A exciting and well fried and hot surmai which was just enthralling and spicy to have in its own way Khandeshi Prawns: This one was real spicy with small pieces of prawns mixed up in a nice khandeshi gravy. Mains: Kombi Wade and Tandalachi Bhakri Along with Pomfret And Fish Curry of your choice. Tandalachi bhakri and hot curry with pomfret and Kombi wade had just made my lunch and my entire day. I was so happy with the food that i had, and with everything that was served to me. Hot spicy and sizzling. I just had the best of sea food that i really wanted to have since a long time. At last, i had my favourite dessertt. The Sizzling Brownie, with vanilla icecream topped over it, and you know sizzling brownie never dissapoints you to end your meal in a high note. Just the delicious food and the service by the amazing staff, made me rate it with 5 stars. And they do deserve this. Looking forward to be here again in the near future and try some of the more authentic malvani dishes and enjoy some quality time with my loved ones.
