The TMC headquarters is in vicinity and that is reason for this lake to have been spruced up making it perhaps best maintained lake of Thane. A small lake wirh a path all around and homes all around too, it is a well visited spot at Panchpakadi (not too far from Thane's own Khao Galli or Food Street). The road adjoining does have parking. There are also some well known snack shops near Kachrali Lake.

The lake has many surprises. It has geese and turtles in the water but also stray cats all around. There is a washroom apart from seats and shaded areas. There is also an open air gym, an amphitheatre, children's play area and even a reading room. It is an active lake kept clean by aerators and fountains.
