To celebrate a special occassion on Navratri, our search for a good pure vegetarian place ended with Shiv Sagar. Shiv Sagar has chain of restaurants across India and we visited this particular outlet at Kolshet, Thane.

Exteriors are appealing and inviting, Interiors are eye catchy and soothing. Ambience wise it was top notch. Their menu has range of options however their speciality lies in South Indian and North Indian cuisine. But they do have options in Chinese and Mexican as well.

Mr Ajay guided us well and recommended us their best selling and yummy dishes!

1. Shiv Sagar Special Dosa:-

This is their best selling dish. It looked visually amazing and instagrammable! 6 dosa pieces toppeed with shredded cheese and cashwers and berries were a treat! Filling has combination of paneer, potato bhaji and few spices. The 2 chutney's and sambhar served alongside were good too! Highly recommend this one!

2. Shiv Sagar Special Kebab:-

Again from presentation point of view this looked spectacular. 6 kebas served with salad and chutney and beetroot mayo tasted amazing. Kebabs were made from mixture of peas, rajma and few spices all minced. Goes very well with the mint chutney.

3. Mirch Paneer with Kulcha and Garlic Naan:-

We were in mood to try something spicy and this was recommended. Again picture perfect dish! Generous chunks of paneer tossed in a spicy red rich gravy and topped with cream and green chillies was soooo goood! Kulchas and Garlic naan were as expected and went well with the richness of paneer gravy!

4. Hyderabadi Biryani:-

Not a typical fan of veg biryani's but this was love! Green spices used here was superr and all the veggies were cooked well and generously used here! Went very well with raita and papad served alongside!

5. Peach Ice Tea & Virgin Mojito:

Peach Tea was a bit sweet to my liking however Virgin Mojito was refreshing and worth trying!

Overall my first experience with Shiv Sagar has been amazing and whenever I crave to eat vegetarian this will be on top of my list!!...

Moving on to the main course, the Kaju Makhanwala is a creamy delight, rich with the flavors of cashews and buttery sauce. The Mushroom and Cheese Enchiladas, served with butter garlic naan, are a flavorful journey with every bite, and the Italian Penne Pasta showcases a well-executed al dente texture accompanied by a robust sauce.

Ending the meal on a high note, the desserts were indulgent. The Black Forest Special is a classic done right, with layers of cherries and cream, and the Sizzling Brownie Sundae is an absolute showstopper, combining warm brownies with cold ice cream to create a memorable finale to the dining experience.
