Read moreI was very sceptic in trying restaurant of a TV chef. When we got there, we had to wait for a table, which was fine, but then the manager asked the hostess how many parties were waiting and she completely forgot to mention us. That definitely didn’t help my doubts. We were then told to go to the upper level of the restaurant but no one guided us to our table. After waiting there for few minutes, we had to ask the staff to guide us to the table. This lack of coordination didn’t do much to ease my concerns. But thankfully, that was where the negatives ended. The menu was well thought and had modern twists on Indian dishes. We tried Pav Bhaji Fondue, Subz Akhrot Ki Galouti, Malai Chaap (though I think it had a fancier name on the menu) and Chicken Seekhpa. Pav bhauji fondue was a great dish. Most place I find that the bhaji is overpowered by spices. But theirs was very balanced and tasty. Galouti as expected was cream and melting in mouth tasted great with the avocado chutney on top of it. One thing I felt was the galouti was deep fried and not pan seared making this little extra oily. Malai chaap was also well made and had a very different preparation. Thin layer of chaap rolled with cheese in between and well-seasoned. Chicken Seekhpa was nice and good portion size. One drawback was that it was completed coated in green chutney which for me personally was too much and could have done without it also. Then we order Karigaro Ki Dal Makhani and Butter tandoori roti. Which were both disappointing as I found the dal to be salty and even after requesting extra crispy roti we didn’t get that. The staff was polite and very attentive to the customer and overall...
Read moreI recently had the misfortune of dining at Karigari with my family, and it was an utterly disastrous experience from start to finish. This place is supposed to be a high-end restaurant helmed by a celebrity chef, but it was nothing short of a nightmare.
Firstly, the service was appalling. We had to repeatedly remind the server of our orders, and each request fell on deaf ears. The waitstaff seemed completely untrained and clueless, making the entire dining experience excruciatingly slow and frustrating.
The food was an absolute rip-off. The portions were ridiculously small for the exorbitant prices they charged. To make matters worse, the quality was horrendous. We ordered mozzarella paneer tikka, which arrived soggy and unappetizing. The breads - naans and rotis - were undercooked and soggy. It’s baffling how a restaurant with such a reputation could serve such substandard food.
Adding to the misery, the hygiene standards were atrocious. The washrooms were filthy, with no hand towels or tissue wrappers in sight. The urinals and overall washroom area were extremely smelly and unclean. It was a stark contrast to what one would expect from a supposedly top-tier restaurant.
The final nail in the coffin was the arrogance of the manager. Instead of addressing our concerns, he was dismissive and rude, making us feel unwelcome and undervalued as customers.
Overall, Karigari was a complete disaster. The combination of poor service, overpriced and low-quality food, filthy washrooms, and an arrogant manager made for one of the worst dining experiences we've ever had. Save your money and sanity, and avoid this place...
