I visited Superstar Pizza yesterday after hearing so much hype and seeing its high ratings on Google. What a colossal disappointment it turned out to be. Frankly, the name “Superstar” itself is a shame to real superstars. This place does not deserve the reputation it seems to have garnered, and I strongly urge everyone to avoid it. Here's exactly why:
First, the service was beyond pathetic. After being seated, we had to call the waiter multiple times just to get his attention. When we tried to order a 7-inch pizza, we were told it would take more than 30 minutes and that only the 10-inch or 12-inch options were available. What kind of ridiculous excuse is this? A so-called “superstar” pizzeria that can’t deliver what’s on its own menu? It’s laughable. We seriously considered leaving at this point but decided to stay since we had already made the effort to visit this overhyped disaster of a place.
Then came the pizza, and I regret every second we spent waiting for it. We ordered the Annamalai pizza, and it arrived 15 minutes later. The edges were burnt, the crust was paper-thin and crumbled with every bite, and the taste was mediocre at best. This was supposed to be one of their specialties? Honestly, even a basic frozen pizza from the supermarket would’ve been better. To make matters worse, when we asked for oregano, the waiter ignored us until we called him twice more. It felt like they couldn’t care less about their customers.
The portion size was another insult. For a pizza priced at 385 rupees, the size was shockingly small, and the quality was abysmal. I kept thinking how much better the experience would’ve been if I had just gone to Dominos instead. At least they know how to serve consistent, decent pizzas with good customer service.
Superstar Pizza is nothing but an overpriced, poorly managed, and pretentious excuse for a pizzeria. The food is terrible, the service is abysmal, and the overall experience is a waste of time and money.
To the management: The arrogance you’ve developed from undeserved hype will be your downfall. Your fame means nothing if you can’t deliver good food and service. Stop resting on your laurels, or you’re destined for failure. Your name, “Superstar,” is a disgrace to the word itself. It’s insulting to real superstars who actually excel at what they do.
Avoid this place at all costs. Save your money, save your time, and save yourself the frustration. You’ll have a far better experience anywhere else—especially...
Read moreEdit: The owner called and wanted to understand what exactly happened. She was very kind and patient and emphasised how important customer service and satisfaction is for them. Admire her resilience and passion for the business. All things aside, I now change my opinion and would definitely visit this place even if I simply cross Trichy. Will rewrite this review again at that time and it will hopefully be only about how good the food here tasted. So long....
Original: On my way from Karaikudi to Chennai, thought will take a detour to try the food here.. Biggest mistake... I reached at around 5pm and asked them "enna dish seekaram kidaikum" (What can you serve quickly) as the 5 of us were super hungry...the waiter said his boss wasn't there and so asked me to write whatever I wanted on a piece of paper and give it.. I wrote the things (2 starters, 3 pizza and a pasta) since I literally went to the kitchen and placed my ordered, I asked if I should pay now or after eating and they said later.. So were all sitting there for 15 - 20 min without a dish being served and when I asked the waiter, he brought 3 boxes of food packed... I told him I never said it was to go and wanted to eat here... So he went and put all the dishes on a plate and brought it to eat.. The cook complained that he thought it was for parcel since I asked him "what dish can be served quickly" (God knows why he thought I was ordering food to go?) We were still hungry and so ordered one more pasta and the waiter comes 10 min after and says kitchen is busy handling online orders, they are understaffed and cannot give the pasta... Are we people who dine not customers who pay money for what we eat???Then I said, forget it and asked for the bill.. This was the cherry in the cake... They bill came with packaging charges and when I requested it to be removed, the cook came from kitchen saying it was my mistake to have asked then what will get ready soon and so they thought it was parcel and was arguing I pay for the packaging also.. HOW RIDICULOUS WAS THAT? and then did not deduct the packaging charge and made me pay a part of it.. Ended up paying more than whatever I ate for... Food deserves a 4 star but this was such a horrible experience .. Request to the owner to never treat customers like this.... Will never ever set food in your town itself....

We entered the restaurant around 9.15. For more than half an hour, no one cared to ask what was the order. We had to call the waiter several times to place the order. As a person working in the service industry we understand that there is only one person to serve some 6 tables and we know how difficult it was to cater to some peak hour demands. We ordered a medium pizza, fries and two coke and the order came around in another 25 mins. But the coke was missing (they didn’t even care to serve water). We reminded the waiter couple of times but no response. We almost finished our food. So we politely told him to cancel one of the coke. He arrogantly told that “Can’t you see I am the only one person serving all the customers? We can’t rearrange the order as per your needs. The order once placed was final”. He also asked me to get up from my seat and stand beside him to see how much demand he is catering. Is this the kind of attitude you train your staff to? Delay is okay. We can understand that. But this seems much like negligence and arrogance. What it takes to bring the coke along with the pizza and the negligence is at its height when he didn’t even realised then even after we reminded him couple of times. Next time when I visit the shop, I shall make sure whether sufficient staff was available to cater to the customers and whether the waiter is in good mood. Sorry for my casualness this time. Thank you for making my evening pleasant and nice. I have never seen a waiter reply to me in such a manner in any restaurant. Worse than a govt office. Investing much in the ambience and neglecting the attitude training of your staffs will not fetch any good reputation. I can never think of visiting this...
