We stayed at MGM beach resort on 19th to 20th October 2025, in room # 106 and 107. While the property itself is quite pleasant, our overall experience was disappointing due to the service issues we faced at the "Song of the Sea restaurant".
Right from our arrival, Mr. Dharmaraj (Security) stood out for his politeness and helpful attitude. As we were travelling with a baby, he guided us with great care and ensured our check-in process began smoothly. However, despite the official check-in time being 2:00 p.m., our room was handed over only around 2:30 p.m. This delay left us with very little time to freshen up and head to the restaurant, where we had already reserved a table for 2:45 p.m.
At the restaurant, we were met by Mr. Moses, who informed us curtly that the kitchen had closed by 2:45 p.m. and only sandwiches or burgers were available. We politely mentioned that we had a prior table booking and requested him to check if some simple meal could be arranged, especially since we had a baby with us and it wouldn’t be convenient for us to go out for lunch. However, his response was dismissive — he bluntly said there was “no need to check.” His tone and attitude were unexpectedly rude and unhelpful.
A few minutes later, Mr. Leo came over to take our order. To our surprise, he mentioned that biryani (veg and mutton), rice and chicken curry combo, and curd rice were still available. He served us with patience and warmth, even bringing curd and other accompaniments to make our meal more comfortable. His politeness and professionalism were a refreshing contrast and truly appreciated.
Unfortunately, our later interactions with Mr. Moses again left us disappointed. During lunch, when we requested his assistance in serving biryani (as we were managing the baby), he said he would help but never returned. The same thing happened the next morning when we asked for hot water.... he acknowledged our request but simply walked away and never followed up.
Since, he did not turn up... We were looking around and thankfully noticed Ms. Sujatha and informed her ....she immediately attended to us. She was courteous, prompt, and empathetic, leaving us with a lasting impression of genuine hospitality.
I felt it necessary to speak directly to Mr. Moses, expressing that his indifference and rude behaviour were unacceptable, especially in a hospitality setting. His dismissive attitude made us feel uncomfortable and unwelcome. It was disheartening to see other guests being promptly attended to while we were repeatedly ignored. Such selective or step-motherly treatment is the last thing one expects after paying a premium price... particularly for a stay of less than 24 hours.
While we understand that resorts have their own policies and timings, a little flexibility and basic courtesy can completely change a guest’s experience. We sincerely hope the management takes note of this feedback and addresses such behaviour, as it affects the overall reputation of an otherwise nice property.
A special note of thanks to Mr. Dharmaraj, Mr. Leo, and Ms. Sujatha.... their professionalism, kindness, and genuine service truly reflect what good...

From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with warmth and hospitality, especially by Sallu, whose friendly demeanor and attentive service made us feel genuinely welcomed. His hospitality added a personal touch to our entire stay, making us feel more like valued guests than just visitors.
The resort’s location, right by the coastline, offered stunning views and the calming sound of the waves throughout the day – it was the perfect escape from the hustle and bustle of city life. Waking up to the sea breeze and enjoying a morning walk along the private beach was one of the highlights of our trip. The beach itself was clean, serene, and not overly crowded, making it ideal for relaxation or a peaceful sunset by the shore.
Another major highlight was the nearby water park, which is a must-visit if you're staying in the area. Located just next to the MGM resort, the water park had something for everyone – thrilling water slides, lazy river rides, wave pools, and fun zones for kids. We had an absolute blast there and ended up spending almost an entire day enjoying the rides and letting loose.
All in all, it was a fantastic getaway – a combination of great hospitality, beautiful beachside views, and plenty of fun activities nearby. We’ll definitely be coming back to stay again, and we wholeheartedly recommend this place to anyone looking for a mix of relaxation and...
