Review Based on my experience on 14 May 2022 Meal : Lunch Pax : 4 adults and 2 infants
I usually start with the positive note on any review. Its so unfortunate that this restaurant or the resort on the whole has a big room for improvement. For the Saturday(14th May) buffet reservation , I have been calling the resort from 13th May morning 9.30 a.m. Everytime they connect me to the melting pot restaurant, No one picked up or line was busy. I somehow got the direct number to the restaurant and that also was not helpful.
When i informed the receptionist on call, she was so rude and replied 'you have to call them only'. Somehow i got connected to the direct number and the person answered my call confirmed that they serve buffet and accepted the reservation.
14th May 2022,we reached the restaurant and heard that they DO NOT SERVE BUFFET. its my first visit and how will anyone have trust on this management if they promise something and do not keep it up
Good: Resort ambience ( not the complete property but the corridor connecting to the beach) Kokommo tiki shak restaurant and the beach adjacent to it. They have not charged for the kid's meal.
Bad: Somehow the resort gives a dull feel and looks like it is being constructed newly The pond area is covered with moss and algae Staffs must be educated in terms of service
Worst: When I order for a starter platter and achari paneer tikka, i will expect both the items to be served. But they served the platter twice and no paneer tikka was served separately. Good that i noticed it and asked if they are repeating the platter and not serving paneer tikka, the waiter went to confirm with someone on the order and accepted that it was their fault
Ordered 3 mocktails and a ginger ale. Mocktails were served but not my the ginger ale. The waiter totally forgot and when i asked, he went in and got me a Schweppes.
While ordering, the basic etiquette is the one who gives the order should be clear and the one who takes the order should also be clear. But the guy who took the order kept talking to the other person and was not fully concentrating on the order which led to the point 1 and 2
Please understand that foodies like me will be so prepared and expecting a lot from any restaurant. 1 - the person took the reservation said buffet is served on 14th May but when visited it was a different situations. 2 - almost 60% of the order was not correctly served. It was a total disappoint for us today.
Restaurant business is not just preparing tasty food but the service do matters a lot. This one review of mine may not impact big, but i am sure every now and then, with this kind of service, atleast a few people will return with a big disappointment from...
Read moreIt was supposed to be C - Salt, because they goofed up the plans. We headed to Intercontinental and wanted to be at their Shack ( KokoMomo.)
Unfortunately, we couldn't get a table and they weren't sure of the waiting time. We took a stroll through the property, watched the waves, garden, the huge artificial pool pond and headed to their other restuarant, The Melting Pot.
They said that the service would start at 19:00 but started by 19:15. Their menu can be scanned through the QR I've attached.
Food - I loved everything that I ate. Paneer Tikka, was juicy, succulent, and right on the masala. Aglio-e- olio, didn't hit the right note. I am not able to articulate what was missing but I have had better and my favourite is from France's streets. Wok Tossed Fried Rice - Man, liked it and was able to eat it all by myself, inspite of nit being hungry and saving myself for dessert. Tiramisu - the best of all and the made my date night. The mild sweetness of the cream, the bitter tinged coffee and the appetizing look and chocolate bits just made me say, Wow!
What didn't work for me - we were sitting, four tables away from their live counter. The chef was prepping Kothu Parotta and the smoke had no way to to escape. Not just me but other guests were sneezing and coughing. No one seemed to care.
The cocktail available in KokoMomo isn't available at the Melting Pot. They're just literally 20 feet away and the bearer failed to explain why?!
Service - Could've been better for the grandeur of the place and otherwise. From the front desk to the restaurant, the service was average.

Read moreThis is a buffet restaurant inside the Intercontinental Hotel. I do not recommend this restaurant. The food is acceptable in quality and flavour, with more fuss than anything concrete. The selection of dishes is highly eclectic, with seemingly little thought given to how/if the dishes/cuisines go together. The presentation is a confusing mix of actual food and display items that are not for consumption, leading to a constant worry that you've helped yourself to a show piece! The restaurant was noisy, with a live band playing music at a volume that made conversation difficult. Service was abysmal for a five-star hotel. We were seated at a table that had crumbs on it, with placemats that had fresh food stains. These were cleaned when we pointed them out. We received cutlery that was not washed sufficiently well, and none of us received any serviettes. When we asked for some, we received a box of paper tissues. And it was only once we pointed out that no cloth serviettes had been placed at the table did we receive them. Wait staff were helpful, but obviously did not have adequate table manners. Dishes were cleared in the wrong order, sometimes while still being used, while switching between courses, dirty cutlery was placed directly on the placemats instead of on the side playes. We rang up a bill of 13k for 4 people, without any additional alcohol. Absolutely not worth the price, do...
