Hello Rudraksh mgmt., I am Radha Krishnan from Chennai. I came to Thiruvannamalai yesterday 27Jul24 for darshan and had food at your restaurant Rudraksh. The cost of food was 150/- and the bill # is 345 with timestamp 27 Jul 24, 4:42PM. I wanted to share my experience which I will term worst to the core. When I entered your restaurant at 4PM IST, I enquired whether tiffin is there or meals is there. One of the female staff in the counter next to male cash staff, told it is available. I asked about food details initially to the lady and later to male staff at cash counter about food availability again and menu. I was told it is unlimited meals containing rice, vegetables, sambar except for Chappati and curd which is one per bill. However when I started having food after 1st round koottu got over and vattral kuzhambu as well. When asked the serving staff told that the one who took order has left for the day and so we don’t know what is your order. Later they gave me rice, sambar and cabbage only. While paying the bill I told I want to complain regarding lack of food and service. The billing staff told the manager is on leave and if I need to complain, I have to do in kitchen only. The lady who told that she did not take my meals order and rather the one who took order left for the day told me not to create a scene just for lack of koottu. I told I am neither a beggar and you are not doing any free service. One male came and introduced himself as manager and told sorry. I narrated the entire story to him and told I will not come to this restaurant again.
I have following questions to your management:s
I didn't get to experience the rooms but had visited the restaurant 3 times while we were there. Why did I visit it again despite the 2 stars? My kiddo wanted a peaceful place. This place can offer that for sure. Food is ok, options are very less, limited to what they tell you. Very much understaffed. Only two attendants on the whole, I get to see three, but only two walk the floor. Both of them seem to be exhausted. They can not handle the normal range of customers, just imagine the rush hour. Had been there when there is no rush and when there is a heavy rush. One of the girls forgets at least one of the dishes we order. After many calls, she comes back in confusion and asks for the order again, which she says is no longer available mam, then gets confused about what I ask and brings some other dish. Being at the place where it is, the restaurant needs at least 6-7 attendants alone, leaving about the serving staff. They need to train them to listen as well, which I believe is a result of fewer staff. They kind of need more staff in the kitchen may be, as the items are very less. Also, the serving quantity of any chutney or curry is just 1/10th of what is actually required. Considering the less staff, if we keep asking for more, it will only burden the...
Read moreHere’s a food review based on your order:
The masala dosa was good, with a crispy exterior and a flavorful potato filling that had just the right amount of spices. The dosa itself wasn’t overly greasy, and the accompanying chutneys were fresh, though the sambar could have been a bit thicker for added depth.
The chapati and paneer butter masala were average. The chapati was soft but lacked a bit of fluffiness. The paneer butter masala had a rich, creamy sauce, but the spices were somewhat muted, making it less flavorful than expected. The paneer cubes were soft, but the dish overall lacked the punch of a truly great butter masala.
The mushroom chilli was good, with the mushrooms being well-cooked and the sauce providing a decent balance of heat and tanginess. However, it could have used a bit more seasoning to elevate the flavors.
The buttermilk was refreshing, light, and a good complement to the meal, though it could have had a bit more seasoning for a better traditional flavor.
Overall, the meal was satisfying, with some dishes standing out while others were...
