Somehow I got a feeling that this establishment is taking our preference for North Indian cuisine for granted and/or unjustifiably exploting it. Let me be more specific.
#1 the taste as well as look/texture and overall feel of the dishes have distinctly declined, to put it charitably. Aalu Gobi sabzi (priced at ₹189 ) just smells and tastes akin to roadside shops' barotta salna (I am NOT trying to run down road side shops nor simple barotta salna here..I am a great fan of these in a sense) ...nothing that makes you revel or evoking a wow feeling. Bhindy fry was absolutely flat and getting stuck between teeth owing to the vegetable used not being tender or fresh. In a small ordinary joint when the food does not rise up to your expectations you try to console yourself remembering the measly price tag it carries. But when you cough out a fat price per dish and over and above that you get so-so-kind of food, it gets on your nerves. #2. French fry...ah what a shame. There was nothing French about it. Not even fried properly...no salt or chat masala sprinkle or anything. Not even offered separately. This was served with tomato ketchup, mayonnaise etc. Again, this won't irritate you if given in a tea shop or a bakery, but not in a quality restaurant like 7ம் Suvai used to be. #3 Bang for the buck ? - your blood pressure shoots up at this. The pricing per se and pricing strategy make you wonder "what the heck...."

Read moreI have been a loyal customer of "Ezhaam Suvai" restaurant for the past four years. However, a recent experience at the Thiruvanaikovil branch was deeply disappointing. As a customer, I was treated in a highly unprofessional and disrespectful manner.
There is a manager named Mr Ajay at that branch. Due to his unacceptable behaviour, I no longer wish to dine at this establishment. The language he used and the way he conducted himself were extremely inappropriate and offensive. His attitude was far from what one would expect from someone in a customer-facing role.
Previously, when Mr Vijayagopal was managing the branch, any issues raised were addressed promptly and professionally. In contrast, Mr Ajay’s behaviour gives the impression that he lacks even a basic level of education and professional training.
