Kaatu Azhaghiasingar koil Srirangam This temple is near Srirangam station and the deity is Lakshmi Narasimha. Known as Kaatu Azhaghiasingar koil(The Beautiful Lion of the forests) because this area used to be full of forests . The story goes that several rishis used to live here and were tormented by wild animals .They prayed to Sri Lakshmi Nrisimha who anwered their prayers and stayed at the area to protect them. One can walk from the railway station to reach here or take an auto from Srirangam temple . The temple opens at 6.15 a.m.-8.00 a.m. Again at 9.00 a.m.-12.00 p.m. Evening temple is open from5.00p.m.-8.00p.m.As one enters the temple there are shops selling Tulasi garlands as also fruits sugar candy and Pooja items. There is on the left a mandapam where Namperumal comes during Vijaya Dasami and stays till late evening. As we proceed inside there are taps where we can wash our feet before entering the temple premises. To our right is a beautiful auditorium where dances and cultural programmes take place. At the dwaja sthambam outside we can see beautiful big kolams done by devotees. After crossing the threshold there is another dwajasthambam where people do namaskarams. There is also a big lamp where devotees can pour their oil offerings. As we proceed on the leftside we come across a flight of steps which leads us to the sanctum sanctorum. One can buy archana tickets at the entrance and offer our pranams to Garudazhwar facing Perumal. As we move along inside we reach the sannidhi housing the most Beautiful Narasimha with an even more Beautiful Lakshmi seated on His Lap. One can make offerings of panagam here by bringing powdered jaggery and dried ginger in a vessel. The priest adds water to it and offers it to Azhaghia singa. It was for the sake of a five year old Prahlada that Narayana took this Form. This Perumal faces west and only Moolavar is to be seen. The Utsavar is at Koorathazhwan sannidhi inside Sri Ranganatha temple. After getting Theertham, Sri sathari and manjal kaapu (turmeric paste) one cames out and exits by the right fleet of steps. Then it is time for pradakshinam or circumbulation. As we turn right we see a number of snake idols on a platform under a huge banyan tree and a vahni tree or shamika tree which is where the pandavas hid their weapons during the period they had to stay incognito. As we move along clockwise there is a sannidhi for Chakrathazhwar and further down a Hanuman on the pillars. As we go around the temple Madapalli can be spotted and people can be seen distributing panakam offered to Naraimha to devotees. During the month of Karthigai sahasra (1000) deepams are lit every Sunday . Many are the prayers answered by Kattu Azhaghiasingar and one experiences a sense of satisfaction after It is a calming experience whenever we go to this temple.Huge Narasimha with Lakshmi looks beautiful with garlands. He assures you that by holding His Hands fear will vanish Love to walk in circumbulation on the paved path around...

This ancient and beautiful temple dedicated to Lakshmi Narasimha Sway is located some 10+ Kms from Tiruchirapalli Central Bus stand and pretty near to Sringam being just a km and half on the road towards the temple town. Adjacent to a Matt College, the temple has an impressive arch t the entrance and pathway leading to the main Gopuram. Once you enter the temple, you have the amazing tall pillars with beautiful sculptures. You move further clockwise and on the left you find a small stair case leading to the main Garbagraha, where Lord is seated magnificently with Lakshmi on his lap. On the walls of the outer Mandap you find paintings of various forms of Narasimha viz., Prahalada Narasimha, Ughra Narasimha et al. On the spacious prakaram you have the shrines of Garudazhwar, Sena Mudali. On a pillar you have the sculpture of Lord Ganpati, christened as Thumbaikkai Azhawar depicted with a tiruman on His forehead in true vaishnavite style . On the right corner of the praharam you find tree with idols of Naag devatas. A very peaceful and serene temple and mark it as one of the important religious destinations in the town of...

Kaattu Azhagiya Singar Koil is situated on Nelson Road near Sri Andavar Arts College in Thiruvanaikoil just behind the Srirangam Railway Station.

Lord Narasimhar is giving dharshan with Thayar. One of the well maintained temple. The prakarams are also very neat and clean.

The temple is one of the oldest . In the past this place was disturbed by a herd of elephants. When people failed to send back the animals prayed and build a temple here. Here Lord Narasimhar is facing west. This temple is opening from 6.15 am to 1200 and 5pm to 815 pm.

This temple is attracting large number of devotees on Saturdays. On other days normal crowd is there. There's a large auditorium in the temple complex to conduct religious programs.

The temple is accessible by vehicles very easily. Large space is available for parking. Just one km from Srirangam and Thiruvanaikoil temples. One furlong from Thiruvanaikoil bus stop. Just visit and you feel happy for its serenity.

Hence own and rented vehicles to be used. The temple is just 1 KM away from Check post and Thiruvanaikoil and very easily...
