#Lucknow has always delighted me with it's food but like any other city - this one too has exceptions to that norm..

During our #LucknowFoodTrail by #KolkataFoodTrotters last year, I had reached a day earlier to oversee arrangements before the remaining members arrived & took that opportunity to check out this one place which was missing from our initial trail itenerary..

I must say I am glad that it was missing because it wouldn't have found a place in our trail anywhichways considering the below average culinary experience that I had there during that visit of mine..

Walked in to a ghostly restaurant with not a single patron on a Friday afternoon - that was enough to raise the first alarm.. Decor was in sync with the Lucknowi tradition but the service was pretty slow and the pricing was on the higher end of the spectrum..

Tried the #MuttonGalawatiKabab with #AwadhiParatha, #MuttonBurraKabab, #MuttonBiryani (worst Biryani that I had in Lucknow), #BhunaGosht & #ShahiTukda - unfortunately, all of them fell short of expectations.. I can vouch for the usual standard of food in Lucknow because I have dined extensively in the city covering most of the hidden and well known food joints till date - this one some how is below average in all aspects right from the quality of the food served to the service..

#PLEASEAVOID will be my recommendation and instead visit the much better eateries that are spread across the city serving authentic #Awadhi cuisine..

Nawabeens is an upmarket Avadhi fine dining restaurant. In Lucknow Avadhi food is available at one- the house of Old Muslim families of the city or two- in the Old renowned eateries of Chowk or three- if one attends a wedding or party catered by a legion of Old Khansamas / Caterers of the Old City or four- a handful of top end restaurants in starred hotel of the city. Not everyone is lucky to be invited to the homes of Old Muslim families. Anyone could ofcourse go to the Old renowned eateries. But their decor, size, atmosphere, comfort is limited to their situation, presence in congested localities which may not always be convenient. Waiting for an invitation to a good catering is by chance unless one is very sociable. Top end restaurants at the Taj, Clarkes Avadh, Lebua and some standalone ones are not light on the pocket and sometimes downright expensive. So steps in Saad- with Nawabeens. He has the right creditials spanning a wide spectrum of Old Muslim family - Old Caterers. His place is one of the finest Avadhi restaurants and not too heavy on the pocket. I'm in my home city Lucknow, as all time today I decided to explore a new restaurant to experience so went to Nawabeen's Awadhi Restaurant. The restaurant from out side was attrective and was better than other restaurants comparing with its class. We ordered Barra kawab which was infact a boneless pasanda it was tasteless and a very small in portion. Other dish was Bhuna ghost it was thick in gravy and ok with taste but was full of broken bone particles which could break your teeth if you are not careful. Another dish we took Mutton Quarma which make us really disappointed and kill the mood to have dinner properly. Roti and paratha was below the standard of Lucknow. When we lost the mood to have dinner so can't dare to order for any rice dish and desert. I seriously can not recommend to any friend to eat at Nawabeen's...
