4 stars because of the limited number of items. I have never liked Dahi-bhalle (except I have recently started to like them) however my father has always been a big time fan of the dish. The only issue is he is also very critical to the taste. The incident happened 4 years back, I boarded the train ( Lucknow to New Delhi, going back to college ) my father and my friends came to see me off. One of my 2 friends brought Dahi-bhalle and Chaat Paapdi with him. Since I still had to develop taste for Dahi-bhalle it was then offered to my father. It so happened we had some state level politicians in my train coach that night. Dad took some of it for himself and offered some to the them people, they by now became familiar to each other while talking about politics and political scenario of the country. We all enjoyed our dishes. Finally the signal became green and train left for the destination. Only after I returned home during my holiday I was asked by Dad, where did they get it from, the dish Dahi-bhalle, the last time. I called my friend and got to know "Ram Narayan Tiwari & Sons". Since then dad never forgets to taste the best in Lucknow whenever he happens to be in that area. In our family we still discuss about how he discovered the best taste of one of his favourite dish in "Tehjeeb ka Seher" And I am grateful to the owner of the place and my dear friend Mr. Prakhar Tiwari for introducing us to it, giving us some pleasant memories to savour to, and working constantly to deliver the best. Keep growing brother. We wish to see you grow to...
Read moreHad seen some good reviews and tried few of the menu items.
Paani Puri (5/5) : four different flavours and 6 puris in a plate. Hing flavour blew myind away Palak patta chaat (3/5) : this was let down. Crispness was not upto my liking and didn’t like the taste of Palak patta due to its thick batter Dahi bada (4/5) : it was definitely good to taste but I didn’t find anything superlative. We tasted another in a hotel at Unnao highway earlier in the afternoon and both were same level.
There was no sitting area and one has to stand on road and eat. I will go for Paani Puri if I’m in same area next time.
This shop boasts of almost 96 years of history but I saw more locals in another shop which is fairly new. I hope they maintain their heritage and...
Read moreIt is one of the oldest chaat shops of Lucknow established in 1929. The Chaat preperation is quite good and the offerings include Aloo Tikki, Dahi Bada, Papdi Chaat, Samosa and Pani Batasha ( Pani Puri). All items are quite tasty. Dahi ( curd) which is used in their all preperation is uniquely flavored and imparts distinct flavor to dishes. One unique thing about the Pani Puri is the use of seasonal fruits for making syrup. This flavour you will not find in other Pani Puris of the City. The fruits used in the preperation are Aam ( Raw Mango), Imli ( Tamarind) and Neebu ( Lemon). There are no seating arrangements at this place and hygiene needs to...
