Anna's Mess is located in Tapovan, Rishikesh, Dehradun and was undoubtedly one of the best places I've eaten Amazing Authentic South Indian Food ! It's easy to find via Google maps and is just next to Hashtag Hostel .

I ordered Filter Kapi, Ghee Podi Masala Dosa and Ghee Thattu Podi Idli . The Filter Kapi is Heavenly . It's perfectly sweet and the coffee shines through. You cannot miss the Filter Kaapi at Anna's Mess. All of the items prepared were phenomenal. It was incredibly fresh and the Chutneys cannot be missed. They serve 3 chutneys with each menu item and you would simply want more of those ! The Idli and Dosa were incredibly flavourful and just would hit the spot for you. The portion size is also very filling and all items are worth each penny. The prices are very economical, so you can easily enjoy a good full meal within your budget .

The Ambience of Anna's Mess is beautiful. They have indoor and outdoor seating. Try seating in the outdoors as it's a beautiful garden space and calmly aesthetic. The staff is polite and courteous to all guests .

I chose my order on the recommendations of Kishor who is simply polite and would give you great recommendations based on your taste/spice reference ! Do ask for him for recommendations whenever you visit.

I just found it on the the net and I said many reviews good rating , I will try it. I am clueless of Indian food , except "curries"... When visiting a country I try to visit different restaurants to have a more spherical opinion about food . I think in Rishikesh , this restaurant is going to be a daily one of mine. Kishore that works there is a friendly guy that he gave me many information about Indian food , especially southern. He recommended disses and try to explain in detail ingredients and process. I had a Paniyaram , something so simple , a rise - lentils dough wit some spices. That texture was .... I had a thousand things come in my mind this could go well with , except than the 3 chutneys it comes . I took a dosa also , as I said except Curries , I haven't tried anything else. The dosa was like , fine dinning cuisine , for me . So crunchy and tasty and there were some crumbs inside that gave a different texture feeling... It was amazing . Kishore told me in a very nice and polite way , how Indians eat their dosa , thing that helped me to feel more comfortable . I don't remember the name of the dosa but it had this "common" potato filling. I also had a tumeric milk with pepper.
