Edit: Funny that they have mentioned my review is fake because THEY DID NOT HAVE A BETTER RESPONSE. I didnt even ask for a discount so stop spreading lies. But this is what is expected of them. I do Google reviews across Continents as well as Michelin star restaurants, certainly giving fake review for a SO called restaurant in a CORNER of Dehradun is not my purpose of life. So do some homework before you comment.
This is how they treat their patrons by spreading lies instead of apologizing or working on their food. Because that is the easy way out. Truly shows what level you people can stoop down to. Shame on you guys, the least you could do was not to tell lies.
As much as I was excited to try this restaurant, the experience turned out to be a huge disappointment, both in terms of food quality and overall service. To make matters worse, I ended up with a stomach infection after dining here.
The disappointment started right from the appetizers. The Seekh Kebab was overly spiced, with no balance or harmony between the flavors, and it was clear that it had been reheated rather than freshly prepared. Moving on to the main course, the Paneer Lababdar was a disaster in itself, topped with grated processed cheese. It completely ruined the texture and taste.
We were particularly looking forward to the Dum Biryani, which was supposed to be made in a handi and served in the same. Instead, it arrived in a regular bowl, tasting more like a pulao. When we questioned the staff, they casually informed us that the restaurant had run out of clay pots, something that they should have informed while taking the order. To make things worse, the chef seemed clueless about what actually makes a biryani ‘dum.’ In a laughable attempt to fix things, the manager instructed him to put a dum on the serving bowl itself, an absolute joke. After an eternity, the so-called ‘Dum Biryani’ finally arrived with a uncooked atta roti stuck to the bowl, which at that point was just comical and absurd.
Adding insult to injury, there was no concession or apology for the mishaps. Instead, we were charged an extra 20 bucks just to pack the leftover biryani, despite the fact that it arrived long after we had finished our meal. Even the complimentary raita that comes with the biryani had an additional packing charge, something that I have never seen before.
So, in summary, we got terrible food, paid more than we should have, and to top it all off, ended up with a stomach infection. The team really needs to pull their pants up if they want this restaurant to survive. Instead of asking for reviews from the patrons, maybe they should work on the quality of food and service. Reviews are a by product of...
Read moreMy Family is a regular customer in Banaras. We used to visit every week, mostly on Saturdays for the last 2 years. The Food is excellent, Atmosphere is Good, price is a little high but its ok as it is Fine Dining. Since My Mother fell unwell and cannot walk, we started ordering from here.
I order from Banaras 3 times in a week from Zomato. Most of the time my order is between rs. 2000 to 5000. Sometimes even more. Today, my order was just for rs. 500. I am appalled at the packing. None of the Dabbas were sealed. Everything was spilled when I received it.Usually the Dahi is semi cold because it takes time for delivery... today it was hot. When I opened as this was the only one whose Dubba lock worked, it was stinking. I had to immediately throw it in the bin. Usually all the dabbas have multiple cellotapes... today there was NONE. This makes me understand that if the Order is less, the restaurant is least bothered. Since I know their quality of packing, I am convinced that due to less amount of order the packing was not done properly. All the food is destroyed and it is not the fault of the delivery boy. The delivery boy was apologetic but it is not his fault at all as the boxes were not packed at all. This is complete BIAS for less amount of order from the Restaurant. The restaurant should apologize as we are regular customers. They can open my details and check ... how...
