Disappointing Experience at Karigari, Dehradun I recently visited Karigari, a popular restaurant chain by Chef Harpal Singh Sokhi, with my family of six, including four senior citizens. Unfortunately, our experience was marred by several issues. - Inaccessibility: The restaurant's two-floor layout lacks a lift, making it challenging for senior citizens and those with mobility issues to access the first floor, which is divided into three sections of stairs. One of our family members couldn't climb the stairs at all but Staff asked us to go on 1st Floor. - Seating Arrangement: We were seated at a table on the extreme left side of the entry, which had inadequate cooling. We had to request the staff to address this issue but the Staff failed to do anything. - Service: The service was slow and inattentive. Our waiter disappeared after taking the order for soup, and we had to remind another staff member to take our order. Additionally, paper napkins and tissue papers were not provided, we had to ask for these. Given the growing number of Karigari outlets, it's surprising that the management hasn't prioritized essential amenities like lifts and efficient service. The experience felt like being in a luxury train compartment at the end of the train with limited access to facilities. Overall, our experience at Karigari, Dehradun, was disappointing, and it seems that the restaurant's growth has outpaced its ability to maintain quality service and amenities.

A Culinary Masterpiece – Karigari is a Must-Visit! 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 Dining at Karigari was nothing short of extraordinary. From the moment we walked in, the ambiance set the perfect tone for what turned out to be an unforgettable culinary experience. The decor beautifully blends elegance with a touch of tradition, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere. But the real star of the show? The food. Every dish we tried was a masterpiece — rich in flavor, perfectly balanced, and presented with finesse. You can truly taste the passion and craftsmanship in every bite. From appetizers to desserts, everything was spot on. The ingredients were fresh, the spices were just right, and the portions generous without being overwhelming. The service was equally impressive. The staff was attentive, knowledgeable, and genuinely invested in making sure we had a great time. They were happy to offer recommendations and made us feel truly welcomed. Karigari isn’t just a restaurant — it’s a celebration of taste, tradition, and hospitality. I can’t recommend it highly enough. Whether you’re a food connoisseur or simply looking for a great meal, this place will exceed your expectations. I’ll definitely be coming back — and bringing friends with me next time!

Visited this place on 30 Nov 2024 with family. On the waiter's recommendation we ordered Kallu Mian Ki Rann (supposed to be their speciality) and Ambaleywala Tariwala Murgh (also recommended by them). Although the service and ambience was nice, they seemed to have forgotten that the main reason we went there is eat good food. The Kallu Mian Ki Rann was absolutely horrible. It was overcooked to the extent that the mutton had become like fibre. Moreover the dish was quite bland. The Ambeywala Tariwala Murgh too was a huge disappointment. The chicken probably was not marinated well and the gravy too was not impressive. I think this is probably the biggest disappointment in terms of food I have faced anywhere ever. If Chef Harpal Singh ever gets to read this review, my suggestion would be to get your local chefs get their act straight. We have been clearly taken for a ride as far as the food in concerned. Won't be heading here ever again and I consider my Rs 5K down the drain.

I heard a lot about this restaurant on social media and also from my friends, finally I decided to try this restaurant so I visited this restaurant on Friday. This Is new authentic Indian restaurant newly opened in Dehradun and restaurant is led by famous chef Shri Harpal Singh Sokhi. I visited this place for dinner with my colleagues .The ambiance was so good . they serve complementary fryms. We ordered the chef special Paneer Margarita Tikka and Corn Soup and tomato beetroot sorba,The tikka was a hit and we all loved it,The soup was also nice very different from regular corn soup.we also ordered Palak patta chaat which was delicious.what I liked most was cheesy Ulta vada pav,.we also had dahi kabab which was below average, better taste in other restaurants .

In main course we ordered Kadhai Mushroom, paneer burji dal tadka ,Kathal ki biryani, missi roti ,Peeth Wali masala roti , adrak mirch roti ,Everything was delicious with right blend of spices and flavours. What I recommend is to add some more spices in kathal biryani,

About dessert,we ordered jalebi waffles and mirchi ka Halwa ,I heard a lot about mirchi ka halwa since day one of this restaurant ,but it was over hyped personally I don’t like the taste, also the jalebi waffles was below average,so in my case I don’t find good dessert.

Service& Hospitality- This was on top notch ,the service was really fast and good , Sonika Rawat - with polite behaviour she attended us and taken care of all the things we want really a good customer service by Sonika who has taken care all the things during our dinner. Head chef 👨‍🍳- Vineet Kumar Choudhary was so kind and polite and personally came to our table and asked about the taste and experience and this is what I liked ,this way this restaurant will definitely get more success.

Overall we loved the experience and service.

My suggestion-about-Mirch ka halwa-Please add some dry fruit and mava to add more taste or remove it from menu and also add some spices on kathal briyani.

Food Items I tried- Corn Soup Bhoot Jholakia -5/5

Paneer Margherita Tikka -5/5 Kurkure Dahi Ke Kabab — 2/5

Tomato Beetroot Shorba— 5/5

Crispy Palak Patta Chaat- 5/5 Cheesy Ulta Vada Pav -5/5 Kadhai Mushroom Harra Pyaza— 4/5 Paneer Bhuriee Dal Tadka— 3/5 Missi Roti— 4/5 Kathal Ki Biryani 3/5 Adrak Mirch Wali Roti -4/5 Peethi Wali Masala Roti—5/5 Jalebi Waffles—1/5 Mirchaan Wala Halwa—1/5 Shaadi...

The brand new Karigari restaurant by Mr Sokhi opened on Rajpur road to our delight. Like other outlets in Delhi NCR, this one in Doon valley was enjoyable. Balle balle.

The food was king. We ordered

Banaras Tamatar chat (5/5) tangy and fresh.

Palak pata chat (5/5) crisp and a burst of flavors

Chit Karare (5/5) potato with a variety of flavours from sweet and tangy to hot and spicy

Paneer Margherita tikka (5/5) melt in the mouth epic tikkas

Dohra gucchi mushroom (5/5) a beautifully balanced curry with an assortment of mushrooms

Kathal ki biryani (5/5) aromatic and flavourful

Charcoal cheese house special naan (5/5) a unique crisp and delicious naan

Chilli Cheese Naan (5/5) a must have bread that was so fulfilling

The papya muraba, hari and lal chuntney along with the chefs special salt blend is delectable.

Bela chameli, Adrak Nimboo da batta and Shogum Shuda were our drinks of choice. All were refreshing and had a unique blend of flavours. (5/5)

The service by the staff members was polite, professional and efficient. Right from the valet parking service to the billing was on point.

Chef Vineet Chaudhry visited our table and we had a pleasant exchange with him. So did Ankit Rawat the bartender. Gaurav and Gobind our servers were excellent ! Keep up the good work.

The facade of the restaurant is inviting, the decor is tastefully done and seating is comfortable. Classic songs from the golden era of Bollywood are charming and melodic.

We will be regulars at this...
