We at IIT Roorkee had booked the hall for freshers' meet. The price as discussed was Rs. 600/- to Rs. 625/-, to be finalised based on the exact menu. The manager has also provided us with a customised menu and told us to finalize our choice for the dinner during freshers' night. We have finalised our menu and send it to the manager. Initially, he requested to replace "brownie with Ice-cream" with "Gulab jamun". Further, after one hour, he informed that fish would not be possible at this price and so we should select alternate menu of chicken. Again, the manager asked me to enhance the rate to Rs. 650/- per plate from Rs. 625/-. Seeing no choice, we have to agree to all his terms. Then came the long silence from the manager. We waited for the entire evening but there was no confirmation from his end. We then called him with alternate number, and he confirmed that the rate of Rs. 650/- per plate is not agreeable to the owner. Furiously and disappointedly, we asked about the final rate, to which he couldn't reply a fixed amount. He was still saying that it may be around Rs. 700/- to Rs. 750/- and the same amount would be confirm only upon his discussion with the owner.
Ultimately, we have to rearrange the entire freshers meet at some other restaurant.
It is beyond my imagination how a person agreed to provide booking at Rs. 625/- (assuming maximum value) was not able to confirm at Rs. 750/- and that too when the menu has been changed as per his conditions.
It is by far the worst experience, I have ever had in respect of dining. Even 1-star raating is a high point for them. Hope they...
Read moreI recently had the pleasure of dining at Tanisha's Royal Hyderabadi Biryani in Roorkee, and I must say, it was a delightful experience. As a biryani enthusiast, I couldn't resist trying their Chicken Biryani, and it exceeded all my expectations. This biryani is undoubtedly top-notch and truly authentic Hyderabadi style. The fragrant rice combined with the soft and succulent chicken pieces made for a mouthwatering treat that left me craving for more.
The restaurant's ambience was a pleasant surprise, earning a solid 4 out of 5 stars. The only minor drawback was the lighting; it was slightly dimmer than ideal, but it did add a cozy touch to the dining experience.
On the hygiene front, both the bathroom and overall cleanliness earned a respectable 4 out of 5 stars. The restaurant staff takes cleanliness seriously, which is always reassuring for diners.
One area for improvement that caught my attention was the entrance. It's not very prominent, and some patrons might struggle to locate it. Enhancing the entrance's visibility would undoubtedly enhance the overall guest experience.
In summary, Tanisha's Royal Hyderabadi Biryani is a must-visit for biryani lovers in Roorkee. The flavors are authentic, the ambience is pleasant, and the cleanliness standards are commendable. With a little work on the entrance, this place could easily become the go-to spot for biryani enthusiasts in the area. I highly recommend giving it a try; you won't be...
Read moreAs an ex-regular customer, I have had multiple issues with the customer service, as we have been served with the wrong order at least 3 times and when addressed it, the staff would just not care and just leave it there, and once, even asked us to have it since they have already brought it. My friends have also had similar experiences. The biryani masala is inconsistent, ranging from bland to extremely spicy, depending on what that day has in store for you. And there had been issues where we have gotten chicken that's hot on one side and cold on the other (probably issues with improper reheating). And we usually attributed the stomach upsets we sometimes get from Tanisha's food to these inconsistencies. The final straw was when the last time I ordered a biryani from Tanisha's, I actually got a feather from the biryani. And it's not even a packing mistake. Because I found the feather inside the food, after eating some portion of it, and the feather was properly coated in masala. There is no justification for this. And I am done with Tanisha's. Adding this review because owing to the lack of good biryanis around here, a lot many people rely on this place despite all the above mentioned problems, and they also have a right to know that even the food, in itself, is disgustingly...
