A 15th Anniversary Celebration That Was a Complete and Utter Failure
On August 21st, 2025, a day meant to celebrate Chowman's 15th anniversary, I was lured by the promise of their special offer. What began as an attempt to enjoy a celebratory meal quickly devolved into a four-hour ordeal of frustration, incompetence, and outright disrespect. Let this serve as a cautionary tale for anyone tempted by a Chowman promotion.
The first sign of trouble was the in-house app itself—a glitchy, unstable mess that crashed numerous times before I could even place my order. Against my better judgment, I persevered, and finally, my order was scheduled for delivery at 12:56 PM. I cleared my schedule, eagerly awaiting my lunch break.
12:56 came and went. Then 1:00 PM, 2:00 PM, and 3:00 PM. My scheduled lunch break was long over, and still, there was no sign of my order. My attempts to contact the restaurant were met with a complete blackout. The support chat was unresponsive, the support line was diverted, and the Sodepur branch's mobile number simply went unanswered. It was as if Chowman had taken my money and vanished into thin air.
With my office shift drawing to a close, I decided to take matters into my own hands and physically visit the Sodepur branch. What I found was a scene of utter chaos. Food packets were strewn about, and the staff seemed to be in a frantic, disorganized state. When I complained, they were utterly nonchalant, not even acknowledging my presence or my desperate search for a meal that was hours late.
After a long, infuriating wait, a manager finally deigned to inquire about my name and order ID. It took another ten minutes just for them to find my cold, abandoned parcel. After all the hassle and wasted time, one would expect a simple apology out of common courtesy. But no. Not a word of regret or recognition for their epic failure was offered. The staff remained as reluctant and nonchalant as when I first arrived.
Chowman, if you cannot handle the logistics of a simple promotional event, you should not be celebrating it. This catastrophic failure of service, from your broken app to your unresponsive staff and your utter lack of respect for customers' time, has been a painful lesson. I will think a thousand times before ever attempting to order from your in-house app again. And to anyone reading this, please, think before you attempt to avail anything from Chowman. You'll save yourself a...
Read moreI was a regular customer of Chowman Sodepur branch, but their service has detoriated drastically. Since last 4/5 orders, Arindam Mandal delivered our food. Surprisingly every time, inspite of mentioning about the change of Rs.500. He never brings that. During my previous deliveries, I found it was already mentioned on the bill, but he denied, that the manager didn't inform him. Moreover he has the tendancy of taking the extra amount. Yesterday evening, I placed an order, but didn't get any confirmation call from the restaurant. Just when I found, the order is out for delivery, I called Arindam Mandal and requested him to bring a Rs. 500 change. He misbehaved so much that I am utterly disappointed. Later on, when I told him, that I will surely register a complain to Mr Debaditya Chowdhury, then he brought the change and apologized for his misbehavior. My point is, if this incident happened with some other person, may be any senior citizen, (who doesn't know, that Chowman customers can register a complain to the owner), then Arindam Mandal would continue to misbehave with them. I don't know, why did Chowman hire, such an incompetent delivery person, who doesn't have the basic knowledge of proper behavior with customers??? There are ample restaurants in Sodepur, especially Hatari (opposite Chowmam), has almost the same Chinese menu as theirs. From yesterday's annoying experience of Chowman, we have decided not to place any order again in that restaurant and we will also inform the same, to our known people in this locality. Ths type of behavior is highly...
Read moreChowman continues to redefine the casual dining experience with its remarkable consistency, rich flavours, and attentive service. Tucked away from the usual hustle of overcrowded restaurants, Chowman offers a serene ambience that makes dining a truly pleasant affair — a rare luxury in today’s urban foodscape.
The menu is a delightful blend of classic Asian staples and creative innovations. Whether it's the perfectly spiced Kung Pao Chicken, velvety Thai curries, or their signature prawn starters, the quality is unmistakable — fresh, bold, and never overdone. Portions are generous, ensuring that value for money meets gastronomic satisfaction.
One of the most commendable aspects of Chowman is their service. Staff members are courteous, well-informed, and maintain a sense of unobtrusive efficiency that adds to the overall calm and comfortable dining experience. This, coupled with the fact that the space is mostly less crowded compared to other popular chains, makes it ideal for both quick meals and unhurried dinners.
In a city full of culinary noise, Chowman strikes a rare balance — great food, good quantity, excellent service, and a peaceful atmosphere. A place that deserves more recognition not just for what it serves, but how...
