After 12 years going to BARBEQUE NATION at various branches all over country- from Delhi - Hyderabad- Secunderabad- Pune- Mumbai- Thane- Kalyan- Jaipur - Guwahati- Ranchi- Bangalore- Chennai …Today for the very first time I had my worst experience here at Sodepur branch.
Atul supervisor and that guy Rawaho couldn’t manage well- However, Sania that girl was too prompt & fast to work. Even the guy who was wearing the trainee name tab was polite and was actually running around.
Problem areas vs good points:-
Prawns came after 25 min wait and after numerous calling to all. Non veg items came with heavily spiced up have to leave the snacks. Food (ie snacks especially- uhh :( cheese balls not cooked properly, fish in snacks came only twice. Spicy Chicken came 4 times. Veg been came for 4 times. Veg paneer was not fresh as in other branches but was bit hard. Dessert was well maintained as it was getting refilled soon. 5 stars to dessert section I’ll say. Atul manager comes to me after dessert asking for drinks!?!? That too while I’m asking for bill- I was puzzled myself - didn’t knew what to say. Overall serving factor which barbecue nation is famous for was not seen today. The worst of all branches. Veg snacks - pineapple was good - broccoli with cheese was best but it came only once. I asked for sizzling brownie with vanilla ice cream and had to wait for 15 mins and then again I’d told Sania to get and immediately it came after I guess 2/3 mins.
Didn’t felt that wow factor at all
Also, there was this kid of may be 3/4 years who had his birthday just next table and when all members were been called for celebrating the birthday of that kid - only 2 of member staff came. I understand it’s busy time. But earlier all staff used to come and we as other customer used to enjoy that. Also the two staff and manager were forcefully clapping their hands (especially one girl who was clapping with sad face) what rubbish. Else stop this tradition of celebrating if you don’t want to.
Busy schedule was always even 10 years back when due to new concept we would go most of time to celebrate almost everything. Especially for celebrating ; but such behaviour for a 3year old kid - have a heart guys.
BARBEQUE Nation I’ve always loved it but unfortunately today I felt that luckily I came on weekdays else god knows what would have happened on weekends with much more busy schedule; that too paying out more amount for worst service and...
Read moreAt lunchtime we ordered Barbeque in a Box (Non-veg) Premium (Prawns and Mutton) via Magicpin. The packaging of all the items was appreciable. Among the starters, I liked the Chicken Wings the most, closely followed by the Chilli Garlic Prawns. Both had a superb smoky flavour and taste was also pleasurable. I would rate both of them 5/5. The Veg rolls were good but could have been some more crunchy (4/5). Instead of Veg Kebabs mentioned in the menu, they gave veg singara kind of things. There were no vegetables in the stuffing as such. However, its taste was ok (3.5/5). The Chicken Tikka lacked taste, but the pieces were soft and their size was alright (2.25/5). Fish Tikka would be 1.5/5 at the most. It lacked a taste, similar to the Chicken Tikka. I do not have much experience of eating Basa fish and therefore can not say which fish was used. Whatever fish they used, we quite disliked the smell of it. In the main course, there were 5 dishes. Chicken Dum Biryani (5/5) — Without going into the authenticity of it, I would say I liked its taste very much. And the chicken pieces in this biryani were quite decent in size. Butter Chicken (3.25/5)— Its chicken was same in size and flavour and taste as the one used in the Chicken Wings. The gravy was tasteful but could not make it much because of its low consistency. Mutton Rogan Josh (3.75/5)— The pieces were well soft, but the gravy was clumsy, though not of a bad taste. I requested them to give solid pieces of Mutton and they kept my request.
