Mitra Cafe Sodepur — Restaurant in West Bengal

If disappointment had a face it would be the face of Mitra Cafe sodepur outlet. When we heard that legendary Mitra Cafe is opening an outlet in sodepur we were excited as sodepur never had an establishment like this before where kabirajis and cutlets would be served. Famous for its iconic diamond shaped fish fry and kabirajis this particular outlet chose a cramped area to serve people who chose to dine in. It's literally a shoe box type dine in with least coordination among staffs. Firstly the open kitchen downstairs has no proper ventilation as fumes from egg rolls being cooked chokes the customers standing for takeout. One might end up coughing heavily. Secondly the wait time is anywhere near 1-1.30 hours. Thirdly the stairway to the dine in is scary and a nightmare for people who suffer from any sort of knee and joint problems. Senior citizens should avoid it. Lastly the cramped space for dine in. There is a difference between cozy and cramped. Terrible sitting arrangements with unclean and dirty space. The dine in has a toilet for staff and people in the same shoe box space. The pin to the coffin is the fact that they ran out of fish cutlets within two hours of service. Very much disappointed with the service & food quality. Overcrowded and very small space with too much people,no management at all. We dine in & ordered chicken kabiraji & chicken cutlet. Initially it was good. Then we ordered basanti pulao & mutton kasha, chicken kasha for taking out. They were taking too much time to provide the parcel, meanwhile we have paid them & waiting for our parcel to come. They asked us to leave the table we have occupied as there was customer awaiting & suggested us to stand in one corner. What kind of weird behaviour it is! Did not expect this from them. If you are running out of space, ask your management to go with different way to manage crowd but don't behave like this. Now, coming to the second part, after opening the parcel we found the Pulao was smelling badly, chicken & mutton kasha was also below average quality. It's summer time, please do properly check what you have prepared,packed & served to your customers. We have paid Rs.1400 total & that was really waste of money.We visited other outlets of Mitra cafe but this time encountered with totally different scenario. Didn't expect this from...

একটা ছোট্ট ঘটনা শেয়ার করছি, গতকাল অর্থাৎ ৬ সেপ্টেম্বর ২০২৪ আমি ও আমার এক বন্ধু গিয়েছিলাম মিত্র ক্যাফে এর সোদপুর আউটলেট এ, অর্ডার করার সময় ওয়েটার বললেন যে এনেক গুলো আইটেম নেই, যেমন ফিশফ্রাই এর মত গুরুত্বপূর্ণ পদ, যাইহোক আমি ফিস রোল টা পছন্দ করি বলে ওটা অর্ডার দিলাম আর আমার বন্ধু অর্ডার দিল ফিস ডায়মন্ড ফ্রাই। ওয়েটার বললেন যে ফিস বেবি ফ্রাই টা নিতে পারেন, এই কথা বলার পর উনি কিছু একটা বলেছিলেন যেটা আমি বা আমার বন্ধু কেউ ই শুনতে পাইনি বাকি আওয়াজ এর জন্য। আমার বন্ধু তখন বলল যে বুঝলাম না আপনি কি বললেন এর একবার বলবেন? তখন ওয়েটার এর উত্তর "ছাড়ুন বুঝবেন না আপনি ডায়মন্ড ফ্রাই ই অর্ডার করুন" 😅 মানে সিরিয়াসলি এটা একজন কাস্টমার এর সাথে ডিল করার নমুনা? আমি জিজ্ঞেস করলাম ম্যানাজার কে? বললেন উনি এ ম্যানাজার, কথা না বাড়িয়ে অর্ডার না দিয়ে উঠে চলে এলাম। জানিনা এভাবে কাস্টমার ডিল করলে একটা ভালো ব্র্যান্ড এর নাম কোথায় যাবে? "আমার পাশে বসা এক ব্যক্তি ও বিরক্ত ছিল কারণ তাকে বার বার জিজ্ঞেস করা হচ্ছিল এর কোনো অর্ডার দেবেন কিনা?" যতদূর মনে হলো ওখানে শুধু খেতেই বসা যাবে, ২-১ টা কথা বললে খেতে দেরি হলে তাড়া দেবে। Here's a brief incident I want to share. Yesterday, September 6, 2024, my friend and I went to the Mitra Cafe outlet in Sodepur. When we went to order, the waiter told us that many items were unavailable, including the crucial fish fry. Anyway, since I like fish rolls, I ordered that, and my friend ordered the fish diamond fry. The waiter then mentioned that we could have the fish baby fry instead, but he said something else that neither my friend nor I could hear due to the surrounding noise. My friend asked him to repeat what he said, and the waiter's response was, "Forget it, just order the diamond fry." 😅 Seriously, is this how one should deal with customers? I asked to speak to the manager, and he said he was the manager. Without prolonging the issue, we decided to leave without placing our order.
