Well, I would like to mark this as a underperforming restaurant and chances are that you may not come back the next time after your first visit. The reasons are very obvious. The food quality during its initial years were good and I liked it. The AC segment is actually much better compared to non-AC in terms of settings and ambience. Now let's talk about the food. The food here I usually liked were mixed fried rice ,veg fried rice, mixed chow mein and chili chicken, sometimes chicken butter masala and biryani. Quantity wise they won't disappoint you. But the food overtime has degraded in quality. In recent years the consistency in quality is gone. You may find decent quality one day and stale,cold ,a month old refrigerated chicken served the other day. The reason I don't prefer this restaurant anymore. Also the most disgusting things about the restaurant: the service quality and the waiting time. You go to the restaurant and check the menu chart and order them to find that it's not available. Absolutely terrible experience with Dakshinayan Restaurant, Joka. I called the number listed online to place a home delivery order, as I couldn’t step out that day. The person who answered very rudely told me to SMS (not even WhatsApp) my order. I did exactly that—sent an SMS with my two-item order, my working phone number, and address (just 4 minutes away from the restaurant).

No response. No delivery. Nothing.

After waiting for over an hour, I called back to check. The same person answered rudely, claimed they didn’t receive any SMS (despite me having sent it), and falsely said they had tried calling me (no call, no missed call on my phone at all). Then, shockingly, he just hung up the call mid-conversation with a tone that was downright asobhyo (uncivilized).

If this is their idea of customer service, they truly deserve a negative rating. This kind of arrogant and careless behavior is unacceptable. I would never recommend this restaurant to anyone. Stay far away if you expect even...

A low budget restaurant catering the joka / thakurpukur 3A locale. Food quality....depends on the cook I presume. More often than not the food was good I mean taste wise...but at times they failed. Too oily or greasy at times. Quantity is good enough. One does have the option of ordering Chinese take away or typical indian meals. One can hop skip and reach the restaurant which is located right on DH Harbor road, but if you intend to home deliver it, you ought to be lucky.
